Wonder ~ Poem by Ibn Arabi

Wonder

Wonder,
A garden among the flames!
My heart can take on any form:
A meadow for gazelles,
A cloister for monks,
For the idols, sacred ground,
Ka’ba for the circling pilgrim,
The tables of the Torah,
The scrolls of the Quran.
My creed is Love;
Wherever its caravan turns along the way,
That is my belief,
My faith.

Ibn Arabi

Love ~ Excerpt from a Poem by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Love

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Love is in all things, all things are in love.
Love is the earth, the sea, the skies above;

Love is the bird, the blossom, and the wind;
Love hath a million eyes, yet love is blind;
Love is a tempest, awful in its might;

Love is the silence of a moon-lit night;
Love is the aim of every human soul;
And he who hath not loved hath missed life’s goal!

Quote on Hope by Helen Keller

Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.

My Song ~ Poem by Tagore

My Song

This song of mine will wind its music around you,
my child, like the fond arms of love.

The song of mine will touch your forehead
like a kiss of blessing.

When you are alone it will sit by your side and
whisper in your ear, when you are in the crowd
it will fence you about with aloofness.

My song will be like a pair of wings to your dreams,
it will transport your heart to the verge of the unknown.

It will be like the faithful star overhead
when dark night is over your road.

My song will sit in the pupils of your eyes,
and will carry your sight into the heart of things.

And when my voice is silenced in death,
my song will speak in your living heart.

Quote on Love and Miracles

You’re something between a dream and a miracle.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Walkers of the Morning ~ Poem by Langston Hughes

Walkers of the Morning

Being walkers with the dawn and morning,
Walkers with the sun and morning,
We are not afraid of night,
Nor days of gloom,
Nor darkness–
Being walkers with the sun and morning.

Langston Hughes

What We See ~ Something to Think About

The Eye

by Kahlil Gibran

Said the Eye one day, “I see beyond these valleys a mountain veiled with blue mist. Is it not beautiful?”

The Ear listened, and after listening intently awhile, said, “But where is any mountain? I do not hear it.”

Then the Hand spoke and said, “I am trying in vain to feel it or touch it, and I can find no mountain.”

And the Nose said, “There is no mountain, I cannot smell it.”

Then the Eye turned the other way, and they all began to talk together about the Eye’s strange delusion. And they said, “Something must be the matter with the Eye.”

Courage My Friends ~ Poem by Phan Thanh Gian

Courage My Friends

My friends, have faith and courage!
Their walls may be nine metres thick and twice as tall,
But your pure heart will overcome them effortlessly.

My compatriots, go forth and seek the truth.
As their arrows may descend upon you like the autumn rain,
But count on pervasive justice to shield you from harm

My dear brothers, be strong and persevere…
Their ruthless ruse may wreak momentary violent destruction
But your peace loving soul will be forever remembered

Phan Thanh Gian
