Problems are guidelines, not stop signs! ~ Robert H. Schuller

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ I Got This

I can figure out how to make social distancing and stay at home work. I don’t like it. I’ll do it. And, I’ll come out on the other side smiling.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Resolve

Resolve

Charlotte Perkins Gilman

To keep my health!
  To do my work!
  To live!
To see to it I grow and gain and give!
Never to look behind me for an hour!
  To wait in weakness, and to walk in power;
But always fronting onward to the light,
Always and always facing towards the right.
Robbed, starved, defeated, fallen, wide astray—
On, with what strength I have!
  Back to the way!

My job as the writer is to fool you. Your job as the reader is to see if you can catch me at it. ~ Sue Grafton

🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Give Some Love to Your Immune System

Be Nice to Your Immune System

One of the best immune-boosting foods is fruit, due to their high content of polyphenols, especially flavonoids. Studies have found that eating fruit before exercise helps to reduce inflammation, oxidative stress and immune dysfunction in the body after exercise. Polyphenols are also found in nuts and vegetables, tea and coffee. To maintain these benefits, there must be consistency. . . . One way you can stay fighting fit is to stock up on gut-friendly, polyphenol-rich, vitamin-full fruits and vegetables. Of course, this alone won’t prevent transmission of coronavirus or any other viruses, we also need to stay vigilant with hand-washing and staying indoors when symptoms occur. But it’s one way we can ensure our immune system is best equipped to keep us healthy.

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • A Mexican blue bird visited today. If you’ve never seen one, you’re missing a real treat. Thanks for the visit blue bird.
  • I’m making Mexican black beans for dinner in the slow cooker. The fragrance is tempting me to run to the store for tortillas. I have avocados for guacamole. Italian and Mexican foods are my favs! Grateful.
  • A neighbor driving by while I walked, stopped her car to check on me. How’s that for neighbors having your back? Grateful for good neighbors.
  • We’re another day closer to a solution. It’s going to happen. Don’t give up. Stay strong, wash your hands, and keep smiling.

The little things are priceless treasures to me. They brighten my day. I hope your day is filled to overflowing with the little things that make life worth living.

Grateful for all the above.
