Thank you for all your comments, Terveen. They were spot on! Being present to each other sustains and improves a relationship. I’ve learned if both people keep talking, somehow everything works out. My wife and I would go on “cheap dates” e.g., Starbucks or something similar where we would dialogue about issues, vacations, dreams, etc.. It worked for us and we also enjoyed the coffee.
