I was speaking to a friend and he related how his family split into two groups arguing over how to handle a parent’s funeral. Now, the family doesn’t get together for holidays. They remain angry with each other. His story created a sense of sadness within me. The foolish things we argue about. We blow them up as if the world spinning on its axis depended on the outcome. It’s better not to hold onto grudges and resentments. Someone has to take the first step to start the healing process. Life is better when we get along.
