I ran into Jerry at the Supermarket. He’s good friend of mine. I hadn’t seen Jerry in over a year. I asked him how he was doing. He said he had cancer in nearly all of his body and had spent 22 months in the hospital. Then he quickly added, ‘Don’t feel sorry for me. I’m not quitting. When I die, I’ll go out kicking and screaming. Jerry went on to tell me that his goal in life is to be a model for other people in similar situations. He wants to help them develop a no quit, never give up attitude. We can all use Jerry’s no quit attitude regardless of our situation. As Jerry said, “You quit, you lose. I’m not quitting. I’ve already won right here (Jerry pointed to his head).
