Low Fat Diets Reduce All-Cause Mortality

A recent study involving 371,159 middle-aged and older adults found eating a low-fat diet reduced all-cause mortality by 18%. The study, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, also found that eating a healthful, low-carbohydrate diet only marginally reduced mortality risks, while substituting low-quality carbohydrates with plant-based proteins and foods containing unsaturated fats resulted in a significant reduction in risk of mortality.
