Life can’t give to you if your hands are closed. Open your mind, open your heart, and open your arms.
NOTE: An old saying goes, ‘When one door is closed, another opens.’ I’ve found this to be true in my experience. The trick is quickly getting over the disappointment of the door closing. Sometimes, we place all our hopes and dreams on a goal. Then as we get close to grasping it, it is snatched away from us leaving us devastated. A mentor gave me this advice, ‘Ray, give yourself permission to feel sorry for yourself for 24 hours. Toss a great lavish pity party. Then shake it off and set a new goal. This disappointment may be a great gift.’ My mentor was spot on. My biggest disappointments have turned into my biggest gifts. Never quit. Never give up.
