🤗 A Better Life ~ It’s a Good Reason

Everyone has scars. The emotional. scars are visible only to the person wearing the scars. It’s a good reason to cut each other some slack and offer understanding.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Let Your Light Shine

There is good in everyone. Some keep it hidden and some shine like the noon day Texas sun. When we help others discover the good in themselves we open them to new possibilities. Let your light shine.

🤗 A Better Life ~ It’s All Going to Turn Out Right

Keep believing today is going to turn out right and tomorrow will be better than today. Don’t wait for it to knock on your door, get up, get going, and get ready for wonderful surprises.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Choose to Live

I recently spoke with a friend who was filled with profound sadness (Her husband died three months ago). She hasn’t been able to move beyond her sadness. She asked me how I was able to move beyond the death of my wife. I told her that for me it came down to staying sad or choosing to live. I chose to live.  I hope she chooses to live. Choose to live. Choose to enjoy life. Choose to be grateful for the life you have.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Your Triumph Will Be Sweet

The easy way is usually the wrong way. Salmon swim upstream to spawn. Face it, challenge your challenge. Show your challenge who’s boss. Your triumph over your challenge will ever so sweet.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Don’t Look Down or Back

If you’re stuck halfway up a cliff, you can either fall or climb. Don’t look down, look up, you’ll make it.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Reach Out

Today, reach out to someone. Check in on a neighbor. Text a friend and invite him/her for coffee. Call your mom or dad (if you still have them). The more we reach out to others, the more we build a caring community around us. C’mon, make that call.

🤗 A Better Life ~ The Past Doesn’t Predict the Future

Who you were in the past does not determine who you’ll be in the future.

Choose to be your best self.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Get Away

Our days can be filled with a stream of never-ending problems. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and burned out. Get away for a few minutes. Get away from the noise, the anxiety, the sources of stress. We all can’t head to the mountains or beach, but we can find fifteen minutes to sit quietly without any external noise. These are your minutes, protect them. You’ll feel renewed and ready to jump back in.

🤗 A Better Life ~ A Recipe to Get Through a Tough Stretch

My tough times recipe:

  1. Wake up. Thank God for another day and another chance.
  2. Get out of bed, exercise, shower, and coffee-up.
  3. Get going and don’t stop until everything is done.
  4. Find time to relax in the evening, no news, nothing serious flowing in.
  5. Go to bed. Thank God for all the good things I experienced.
  6. Sleep like a young child.

Tomorrow: Repeat steps one through 6.
