🤗 A Better Life ~ Tune it Down – Tune it Out

Don’t pay attention to the sideshow, you know, all the drama that sometimes floats into our lives. It’s easy to dragged into someone else drama. If you’re like me, you’ve got enough going on without carrying the burden of someone else drama. Make it a Drama-Free Day.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Love, Love, and Love Some more

Share a bit of the love you got stored inside, it comes from a never ending source.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Some Things Are Important, Some Things Are Not Important

I listened to a song by Delbert McClinton the other day and a line went, “I used to worry about things like that.” His song made a wonderful point, most of the things we worry about, don’t really matter much in the long run. I think I’ll do a self inventory and see what things I’m thinking about that I can put on the shelf.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Be Nice to Yourself

Make today a social media free day. Use the time spent online doing something nice for yourself. I think I’ll head to Starbucks and get an iced tea to cool me off this hot Texas afternoon.

🤗 A Better Life ~ No is An Option

Learn to Say No

Sometimes it is difficult to say no. Yet, saying no may save you a lot of stress because you didn’t take on a burden someone wanted to place on your shoulders. Saying no is a boundary setter. Know your boundaries, protect them (You know when you have to be flexible and help someone out even if it causes a temporary increase in stress. It may be stressful when you say no, but soon afterward, relieve will flood over you.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Enjoy the First Sip of Coffee

I like my morning cup of coffee. Do you? Do you sip your coffee as soon as you pour it into your cup? Or, do you carry it to your table, bar stool, or favorite chair? Before you sip your coffee, take a deep breath, clear your mind and enjoy the first sip and sense every flavor the coffee offers to you. You can do the same with tea or any other first beverage of the day. Take it a step further and offer a thank you for the farmers, laborers and people who brought it to market for you. It makes for a great start to the day.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Today’s Your Day

Give yourself some love today. A good starting place is to kick up the self talk with positive comments, e.g., Your Name, you are looking good. Your name, you’re going to have a great day. I like your style, your name). Give it a try.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Want to Feel Happier?

In her book Ten Minutes to Happiness, Sandi Mann, a lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, advocates keeping a daily journal. . . .Mann says that answering the following six questions, . . . can help us to find more happiness in life.

1. What experiences, however mundane, gave you pleasure?

2. What praise and feedback did you receive?

3. What were the moments of pure good fortune?

4. What were your achievements, however small?

5. What made you feel grateful?

6. How did you express kindness?

The benefits of keeping a short journal like this are two-fold. When we write, it helps to remind us of the small things that brought us happiness. It also provides us with an archive of everything that has made us happy in the past, which we can reflect on at a later date.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Let Go of Stress the Natural Way

Take A 10 Minute Stress Break

Feeling less stressed is as close as your next breath. Focusing on your breath curbs your body’s “fight or flight” reaction to pressure or fear, and it pulls your attention away from negative thoughts. Sit comfortably in a quiet place. Breathe in slowly through your nose, letting your chest and lower belly rise and your abdomen expand. Breathe out just as slowly, repeating a word or phrase that helps you relax. To reap the most benefit, repeat for at least 10 minutes.

🤗 A Better Life ~ Turn off the Tech (At Least for a Little While)

Free Up Your Life and Schedule Tech- Free Time

If you can’t imagine life without your phone for 3 days, set aside certain times that are phone-free in your household. (You may want to include other digital devices, too.) That might be an hour or so each evening before dinner or every Sunday afternoon. Go for a walk, or play cards or a board game — anything that gives you a chance to talk and engage with one another.
