There are many annoyances we encounter each day. How far will we travel today if we stop and get angry at each annoyance? This stuff happens. It happens to everyone. Ignore the annoyances and head on full speed ahead. Don’t look back.

💡 Something to Think About
Whatever your age or condition, what is possible for you? In going after the possibilities we discover and rediscover ourselves. Once we go after possibilities, new possibilities unfold in front of us. The only requirement is for us to let go of what is stopping us from giving all our attention to what is possible for us at the current moment.Â
💡 Something to Think About
It is easy to express our honest feeling about another. It is difficult to be honest about ourselves with ourselves. We’re a mixture of light and darkness. The darkness within has great power when we deny it exists. When we name and expose our darkness to the light it disappears like the morning dew.
💡 Something to Think About
No one can be sure of their journey. How many times I’ve had my best plans knocked away from me and I’ve been disappointed only to discover that something better was waiting for me. If we’re open to our unfolding path we may discover disappointments are the fertile ground of new and wonderful experiences. We experience a freedom that comes from letting go of desperately fighting to hold on to something that offers us a false sense of security. In this new freedom a myriad of opportunities become visible.
💡 Something to Think About
Alone, I can’t stop global warming. Â Alone, I can’t end hunger. Alone, I can’t end wars and terror. I can help my neighbors. I can be a listening ear to one who is suffering. I can recycle. I can make myself a man of peace. When we all do what we can, we are not alone, we are connected and together great things suddenly happen.
💡 Something to Think About
I like independent thinkers, folks who are not afraid of questioning. Thinking for ourselves is an important human right. When we forfeit our way of thinking for someone else’s thinking, we forfeit control over our lives. Question, question, and question. Seek the truth the best you can. When we think for ourselves we may stumble and fall, but it is our stumble and fall, we’ll learn from it.Â
💡 Something to Think About
Sending angry texts or emails doesn’t work. They may even make a difficult situation worse. It’s hard to discuss difficult situations face-to-face. If a solution is important, people have to get together and iron out difficulties. It’s true at all levels of human activity.Â
💡 Something to Think About
Be careful who you listen to. Don’t let others set limits on you. Neighbors told my parents my brother and I would do well to work in one of the local factories. My parents didn’t believe them. My brother and I both have had successful academic careers. I recall a young Mexican-American woman who was a student in one of my classes. She said her counselor told her she should get a job because her future was working in fast food and getting pregnant. This woman didn’t listen to her counselor. She earned a master’s degree and was working on a doctorate. Listen to your heart, never to voices who put limits on you.
💡 Something to Think AboutÂ
Wherever you are in your life, keep on grinding, keep on going, don’t give up, don’t give discouragement the upper hand. You are destined for better things. Good things are heading your way. With your hard work, no quit attitude, and patient endurance you’ll surprise all who are watching you.
💡 Something to Think About
We all need encouragement. Some days we can do with a little, other days we need heaps and heaps of encouragement. Offer your encouragement to all who pass you by. Don’t worry about them getting ahead of you. So what, if they do. Good for them. Your turn will come. And, when it does, you’ll have a bunch of cheerleaders cheering you on.
