Everyone needs a friend. We need someone who’ll set everything down when we need a hand.We need someone who’ll listen and listen until we feel better. We need someone who will accept us for who we are, warts and all, and still love us. Ye, we all need a friend. That’s the kind of friend I want to be. A young girl teaches us about friendship in short Vimeo video. Enjoy!

Light Your Kindness Flame

It doesn’t take much to make a big difference in the world. You can do it. I can do it. We only have to bring an act of kindness, small or large, to someone, anyone. You will make their day better. You will feel better. The world will be a bit warmer and filled a bit more with love because YOU and I took a moment to be kind. Light your kindness flame with this YouTube video that shows 24 acts of kindness. You’ll leave feeling good after you watch it.

A Simple Act Of Kindness

It only takes a moment, a single moment, to turn someone’s day around. A kind work, a thoughtful gesture, an understanding heart. Simple acts of kindness are the glue the hold us together. A simple act of kindness does more for the giver than the receiver. Make two people feel good today: The person who is the receiver of your act of kindness and you, the thoughtful person who took a moment to be kind. Don’t know what to do: The short YouTube video will inspire your creativity.

A Simple Act Of Kindness

What can you and I give away and get a one-hundred percent return? I’m not selling hedge funds, stocks, or property. A simple act of kindness will make someone smile, renew a belief that life is good, generate goodwill, and you and I can do it with a simple act of kindness. Unexpected, wanting nothing in return. Light up someone’s life today with a simple act of kindness. The following video will inspire you.

Be Kind To Yourself

At times it is hard to be kind to ourselves. We frequently apply negative self-talk, personal insults, and judgments against ourselves without a thought of extending a compassionate inward glance. Today, let’s make all self-talk positive. Instead of criticizing our actions, let’s praise our effort. If we fail, let’s applaud our willingness to shake it off and get going again. The short YouTube video provides a wonderful example of how jumping to judgment leads to wrong conclusions with others and with ourselves.

Look Back With Kindly Eyes

Look back on Time, with kindly eyes —
He doubtless did his best —
How softly sinks that trembling sun
In Human Nature’s West — by Emily Dickinson
Now that I am dancing alone, when I pack for a flight, I try to keep it light and simple. I take all I need in one carry-on and my backpack. When my carry-on is full, it’s full and that’s it. Everything else stays behind. It’s easier that way. I don’t have to check baggage. I easily pass through TSA. Okay, I get a pat down now and then. I have to remove my shoes and belt. You all know the drill. After I pass through security, I go to Starbucks, get a coffee and head to the gate. I’m relaxed and ready to enjoy my flight and destination. Traveling alone is a teacher.
I’m learning to “Look back on Time, with kindly eyes.” The poet Emily Dickinson had it right. I’m learning to pack only good memories, and consider the rest excess baggage. I can look back and know, “He doubtless did his best.” I think knowing I did my best is a good thing. All the would have’s and could have’s and should have’s are excess baggage I’ve discarded. Here’s hoping you “Look back on Time, with kindly eyes,” too.
