A Poem About Love by Hafiz

I long to open up my heart
For my heart do my part.
My story was yesterday’s news
From rivals cannot keep apart.

On this holy night stay with me
Till the morning, do not depart.
On a night so dark as this,
My course, how can I chart?

O breath of life, help me tonight
That in the morn I make a start.
In my love for you, I will
My self and ego thwart.

Like Hafiz, being love smart;
I long to master that art.

Silence by Hafiz

Silence

by Hafiz

A day of Silence

Can be a pilgrimage in itself.

A day of Silence

Can help you listen

To the Soul play

Its marvellous lute and drum.

Is not most talking

A crazed defence of a crumbling fort?

I thought we came here

To surrender in Silence,

To yield to Light and Happiness,

To Dance within

In celebration of Love’s Victory!

The Hope Of Loving ~ by Meister Eckhart

The Hope of Loving

by Meister Eckhart

What keeps us alive, what allows us to endure?
I think it is the hope of loving,
or being loved.
I heard a fable once about the sun going on a journey
to find its source, and how the moon wept
without her lover’s
warm gaze.
We weep when light does not reach our hearts. We wither
like fields if someone close
does not rain their
kindness
upon
us.

Today’s Quote on Courage

Even in a world that’s being shipwrecked, remain brave and strong.

Hildegard of Bingen

I Am That by the Mystic Julian of Norwich

I am that

I am that.
I am that which is highest.
I am that which is lowest.
I am that which is All.

Mystic Silence ~ Poem by Attar on Love

Mystic Silence

By Attar

From each, Love demands a mystic silence.
What do all seek so earnestly? Tis Love.
Love is the subject of their inmost thoughts,
In Love no longer “Thou” and “I” exist,
For self has passed away in the Beloved.
Now will I draw aside the veil from Love,
And in the temple of mine inmost soul
Behold the Friend, Incomparable Love.
He who would know the secret of both worlds
Will find that the secret of them both is Love.

In Silence ~ Poem by Thomas Merton

In Silence

by Thomas Merton

Be still.
Listen to the stones of the wall.
Be silent, they try
to speak your

name.
Listen
to the living walls.

Who are you?
Who
are you? Whose
silence are you?

Who (be quiet)
are you (as these stones
are quiet). Do not
think of what you are
still less of
what you may one day be.

Rather
be what you are (but who?)
be the unthinkable one
you do not know.

O be still, while
you are still alive,
and all things live around you

speaking (I do not hear)
to your own being,
speaking by the unknown
that is in you and in themselves.

“I will try, like them
to be my own silence:
and this is difficult. The whole
world is secretly on fire. The stones
burn, even the stones they burn me.
How can a man be still or
listen to all things burning?
How can he dare to sit with them
when all their silence is on fire?”

Someone Should Start Laughing Now – Poem by Hafez

Someone Should Start Laughing Now

by Hafez

I have a thousand brilliant lies
For the question:

How are you?

I have a thousand brilliant lies
For the question:

What is God?

If you think that the Truth can be known
From words,

If you think that the Sun and the Ocean

Can pass through that tiny opening Called the mouth,

O someone should start laughing!
Someone should start wildly Laughing ‘Now!

Today’s Quote

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. ~ Rumi

The Subject Tonight Is Love – Poem by Hafez

The Subject Tonight is Love

~ Hafez

The subject tonight is Love

And for tomorrow night as well,

As a matter of fact

I know of no better topic

For us to discuss

Until we all

Die!
