Something to Think About

A cold front came through south Texas announced by thunderstorms bringing much needed rain. When it rains in south Texas, the rain is often torrential and heavy, pouring water on the ground in a brief time. One has to be careful of flash flooding from dry creek beds that quickly overflow and flood roadways. Life’s a lot like the Texas rains. We’re riding along on a high, then boom, torrential rains. We’re not alone when this happens. It happens to everyone. What do we do when the rains hit? Walk on through the rain. The storms will end. A rainbow will appear.

Something to Think About

Early voting has started in Texas with election day just two weeks ahead. I take voting seriously. I like to inform myself about the candidates and their positions. I don’t care for the negative ads I see on TV. I view negative ads as half-truths that tell me nothing about either candidate. Voting is a honor and one to take seriously. I’m happy I have choices to make. I may not vote for all winning candidates, but knowing I have a chance to express my viewpoint is a fundamental right in a democracy.

Today’s Good Word ~ Rain

I live in drought stricken Texas. We need rain. It will come. When it comes to Texas, it will come Texas style. We’ll get nearly a year’s average rainfall in a day or two. When the soaking rain comes, I’ll go out and dance in it. I’ll let it soak me through to the skin.  Rain provides me with the metaphoric feeling of being cleansed of all the things weighing on my mind.
