We communicate with other by sharing our stories. When I listen to your story, I validate your experience and life. I grasp the lessons life taught you. Listening to each other’s stories erases biases and builds strong bonds.

Pulling someone else’s thoughts down doesn’t elevate my thoughts. My thoughts are elevated when I dare to let them stand stand by side with contradictory thoughts. Am I willing to learn from the differences between opposing thoughts and refine my thinking?Â

Filling the day with lots of things may help us feel like we are accomplishing a lot. Another way of looking at it is to realize that filling the day with things is our running away from what we are feeling. Slow down, identify your feelings, they are speaking to you.

I have a small bird house hanging from my large live oak tree. A male and female couple built a bird nest inside the bird house. Eggs have been laid and hatched. I watch the male and female flitting back and forth to the bird house with bits of food in their mouths working non stop. I don’t hear them complaining because they have to work to feed their offspring. What a wonderful lesson they teach us: Take responsibility. Do what you are supposed to do. And, sing while you are doing it!

If we dare to take the journey within we might discover the acorn waiting to grow into a giant oak tree. Once discovered, it’s up to us to nurture and grow the acorn so it achieves it’s full potential. Dare to take the journey. You’ll never regret it.

Things to thing about:
Who am I?
What is my purpose in life?
What are the things I am grateful for today?
How can I show those close to me that I love them?

What if you didn’t know where you were going and tried to figure it out without the map someone gave you? Perhaps you’d discover a new path and meaning to life.
