Something to Think About

Winter hasn’t arrived, yet, I’m already looking forward to spring. I have a bit of a wait. Spring is the stuff of hope. It is the stuff of new life, new dreams, and the start of new adventures. We all have winters in our life. The winters in our life are the periods of waiting, holding on to hope, and believing that which we can’t see, will once again happen. Winter requires us to have faith that spring will return. Winter requires us to have patience. Winter requires us to trust the inevitable flow of life. We may as well accept winter and roll with it. I’m going to try to that, but I’ll keep an eye open for signs of spring.

Something to Think About

Fall is in full swing in the northern hemisphere. Leaves are falling. The temperatures are dropping. The squirrels are gathering nuts. These are all signs that fall is here and winter is not far away. The seasons change. They don’t fight change. It is nature’s way. We can take lessons from nature. When change is inevitable, why fight it, adapt to it, make the best of it. Turn the change into something beautiful. Like each season, which has it’s own special beauty, we can make each season of our lives beautiful and let it shine brightly. C’mon, you can do it.

Today’s Poem ~ Craving for Spring

Craving for Spring

D. H. Lawrence

I wish it were spring in the world.

Let it be spring!
Come, bubbling, surging tide of sap!
Come, rush of creation!
Come, life! surge through this mass of mortification!
Come, sweep away these exquisite, ghastly first-flowers,
which are rather last-flowers!
Come, thaw down their cool portentousness, dissolve them:
snowdrops, straight, death-veined exhalations of white and purple crocuses,
flowers of the penumbra, issue of corruption, nourished in mortification,
jets of exquisite finality;
Come, spring, make havoc of them!
