Defeat?
Francis William Lauderdale Adams
WHO is it speaks of defeat? —
I tell you a Cause like ours
Is greater than defeat can know;
It is the power of powers!
As surely as the earth rolls round,
As surely as the glorious sun
Follows the great world moon-wave,
Must our Cause be won!
What is defeat to us? —
Learn what a skirmish tells,
While the great Army marches on
To storm earth’s Hells!

Ray, thank you so much for these poems! I love English poetry but always had trouble finding good ones that are not too long and relatively simple, the ones you post are and they are always a good read. Thanks, you make each of my days a little better with the stuff you post 🙂
Thank you for you kind words. I try to find poems that uplift the spirit and brightens one’s day. Have a great day. Stay healthy. Stay strong. Ray
