Today’s Inspiration ~ Live Life to the Full

“I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.” ~ Jack London

Today’s Poem ~ Are You Loving Enough?

Are you Loving Enough?

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Are you loving enough? There is some one dear,
Some one you hold as the dearest of all
In the holiest shrine of your heart.
Are you making it known? Is the truth of it clear
To the one you love? If death’s quick call
Should suddenly tear you apart,
Leaving no time for a long farewell,
Would you feel you had nothing to tell—
Nothing you wished you had said before
The closing of that dark door?

Are you loving enough? The swift years fly—
Oh, faster and faster they hurry away,
And each one carries its dead.
The good deed left for the by and by,
The word to be uttered another day,
May never be done or said.
Let the love word sound in the listening ear,
Nor wait to speak it above a bier.
Oh the time for telling your love is brief,
But long, long, long is the time for grief.
Are you loving enough?

Today’s Smile

Joe: “I asked my girlfriend what kind of engagement ring she’d like.”

Pete: “What did she say?”

Joe: “She said, ‘One like you, cheap and round.'”

Something to Think About

What did you do today to brighten someone’s day? Did you shine a light on their darkness? Did you listen to their heartbroken tale? Did you assure someone it was going to be alright? Did you give a lonely person a surprise gift? There are many ways to brighten another’s day.

Today’s Power Thought ~ Two Sides of the Same Coin

We think with our head. We feel with our heart. When we integrate both, we make better decisions, and we’re more likely to find ourselves on the right road to a desired destination.

Something to Think About

Who do you love? Did you think of yourself? Loving oneself is a good starting place. When we love ourselves, we treat ourselves with compassion and forgiveness. We don’t compare ourselves to others, or believe that we are not worthy of the good things life has to offer. The more we practice loving ourselves, the more our love spills over and touches all the others who come into our life.

A Better Life ~ The Gifts of Young People

Young people offer all ages many gifts. They are full of life, adventure, and excitement about taking on life. It’s good to be around young people. Their exuberance about life is a springtime song that is contagious. Encourage the young in your life. Don’t dampen their spirits with illusionary fears, or placing limits on them. Whatever one’s age, it’s good to be full of life, adventure, and joyful excitement about taking on challenges. Leave fear behind, keep looking forward.

Today’s Power Thought ~ Crossing the Finish Line

Want to cross the finish line? You have to start running and keep running right through the finish line tape. Pay no attention to the other runners. One step after another and you’ll cross the finish line.

Today’s Good Word ~ Real

Real – Def: things as they really are, not as they exist in the imagination, in a story, on the internet, etc.

I like smiles that are real. I like folks who wear their emotions on their sleeves. I like folks who understand the ups and downs of life because they’ve lived them. These kinds of folks are real. Life has smoothed their rough edges. They have nothing to hide, they are who they are, nothing more, nothing less. It’s not easy to be real in a world that seems to reward a facsimile of what is real. Becoming real is a life process. It can’t be bought, or taught. It happens the day one can look in the mirror and love what they see. They love the scars, joys, loves and lost loves. They know the journey they’ve traveled taught them more than any university could teach. Here’s hoping your journey has made you real.

Today’s Health Tip ~ Red Grapes Versus Green Grapes, Which is Healthier?

When you’re at the supermarket, you might be confused about whether to reach for the green grapes or the red grapes. But nutritionally speaking, how do they compare? When we compare the nutritional profile of green grapes and red grapes, both contain the same vitamins, minerals, and fiber and provide around 100 calories per one-cup serving. . . . There is research to support that red grapes might have the advantage. The difference in the color of the grape color essentially comes down to antioxidants known as anthocyanins, which are responsible for the deep, purple pigment in red grapes. Red grapes contain larger amounts of antioxidant phytonutrients called anthocyanins and flavonoids, which have been linked to more health benefits.
