The ancient Chinese philosopher, Laozi, said, “Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.” The truth he spoke centuries ago holds true today. It’s important to listen to other people to learn and evaluate what they say; yet, when we let their thought and opinions determine our actions we become their puppet and they pull our strings. Walk to the beat of your drummer. It’s your life, dare to live it fully.

I love this. Live for yourself. 🙂
Hi Terveen, I’m a Catholic. My favorite saint is St. Francis of Assisi. There is a story of how his rich father took him before the local bishop because Francis took cloth from his father’s shop and sold it to raise money to rebuild a church. Before the bishop could pronounce any judgement. Francis took off all his clothes handed him to his father and said “from today on, I have one father, father in heaven.” The bishop hurriedly clothed him. Francis was no longer controlled by his father’s wealth ad turned his sole focus to serving God. His story stuck with me. I’ve tried not to let anyone hold power over me. Some folks may have thought I was crazy turning down their offers of rewards. I had a greater gift – freedom. Have a great day. Ray
That’s really wonderful, Ray. So powerful…Have a great week ahead. You shine on too. 🙂
