Joe: “I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon.”
Pete: “Why did you order a chicken and only one egg.”
Joe: “I wanted to see which came first.”

Worrying about what might or could happen wastes precious time. If our worry is over something we can’t control or influence it’s as if we enjoy inflicting pain on ourselves. If it is worry over something we can influence, then it might be better to take the energy we put into worry and put it into action doing the best we can to influence the outcome. Dismiss the talk show people who build up scenarios that get you upset. Don’t let other people push your worrying button. Your plate is full enough today.

“Impossible is just an opinion, don’t buy it.” — Robin Sharma
Last night I prayed
Softly, peacefully, and still,
No strain, no grief, no disbelief,
No doubting of His will,
Last night I prayed
Softly for His strength,
Since I am weak.
Then with peace-of-mind
Worries and stress left behind
I quietly fell asleep.
These habits foster a mindset focused on positivity and resilience, supporting an overall optimistic outlook.
Joe: “My girlfriend told me a boxing joke.”
Pete: “Was it any good?”
Joe: “It didn’t have a punch line.”
About this time every day a gecko comes out from hiding and makes his way across my fence. He stops every so often to see if he can snag an unsuspecting insect. I’m cheering for him because the mosquitos in south Texas are not polite. They’ll bite you anytime they find you. The gecko doesn’t fear a cat or hawk taking hs life. He intuitively knows he has to work if he is to eat, I’m not going to stay inside until a frost comes because I don’t want to be bitten by a mosquito. That’s the way it is with life. We have to step into life and embrace it. We can’t let fear hold us back. Better to step into life and not hold back than always wanting to try but never daring to.
