Ten years of brutal Spartan preparation. One drunk driver. The ultimate reckoning has arrived—how does it end?

The Spartan’s Reckoning
Booze stole Naomi Burkawicz’s youth in two swift, brutal strokes. First was her father, consumed by the bottle, dying when she was twelve and leaving Naomi and her mother to scrape through the wreckage. The second hit five years later: a drunk driver smashed into her mother’s sedan. Three months in county lockup—that was all the justice the court deemed her mother’s life was worth.
Every single morning for ten years, Naomi stared at the faded printout of Marcus Vance’s mugshot taped to her bathroom mirror.
“Your day is coming when I am ready,” she promised the paper face.
She didn’t grieve; she forged herself. Naomi lived as a Spartan. She stripped her existence down to cold iron weights, calloused palms, pre-dawn runs through freezing rain, and absolute silence. No vices, no comfort, no weakness. Only the sharp, singular focus of eventual retribution.
Now, the Spartan was ready.
It was a damp Tuesday night when she finally tracked him down. Marcus Vance sat on a rusted bench behind a dive bar, reeking of cheap whiskey. He was bent, grey, and utterly defenseless—a pathetic shadow of the man who had destroyed her world.
Naomi stepped from the dark alley, her heart beating with mechanical precision. Rain slicked the asphalt as she closed the distance. In her right coat pocket, her fist tightened around the heavy, cold metal instrument she had carried for this exact moment.
Vance looked up, bleary-eyed and trembling. He didn’t recognize her face, but he felt the suffocating weight of her presence.
“Who… who are you?” he rasped, flinching back against the cold brick wall.
Naomi slowly pulled her hand from her pocket, stepping into the dim streetlamp glow. Ten years of preparation collapsed into this single breath. But as her eyes locked onto his, the script in her head suddenly shattered.
How does the story end? What becomes of Naomi? I It’s up to you to finish the story.
