A Better Life ~ Change – It’s All Up to Me

I am the only one I can change. I waste my time and cause necessary friction with others when I try to change them. I can change my attitude. i can change my behavior. I can change my habits. It’s all up to me. If I don’t change, It’s on me. Not everyone will like my changes. They’re used to the old me. If the old me isn’t working, I want to change into a new me. If other people are unhappy with the new me, that’s not my issue. I have to move on.

What If . . .

What if you could change something tomorrow regarding your life, what would it be? Give it some thought. Be creative and think outside the box. The only limits to place on your thinking is that your ideas have to be technologically feasible and you can do it tomorrow. If you really want to change, change! Don’t let excuses come through the door. Enter the no excuse zone.

Something to Think About

Fall is in full swing in the northern hemisphere. Leaves are falling. The temperatures are dropping. The squirrels are gathering nuts. These are all signs that fall is here and winter is not far away. The seasons change. They don’t fight change. It is nature’s way. We can take lessons from nature. When change is inevitable, why fight it, adapt to it, make the best of it. Turn the change into something beautiful. Like each season, which has it’s own special beauty, we can make each season of our lives beautiful and let it shine brightly. C’mon, you can do it.

Today’s Inspiration ~ We Can Always Begin Again

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

~ C. S. Lewis

What If . . .

What if we choose to read a book instead of watching TV? Think of the possibilities when we choose to read a book. We may choose to read a book that will change our life. We may choose to read a book that will entertain us. We may choose to read a book that will scare us. Or, we may choose to read a book to learn more about a different culture. There are so many options. Our minds will collect new words, thoughts, and ways of seeing.

What If . . .

What if I analyzed how I use my time? Would I discover that I’m spending more time on things that are unimportant than are important? As I was leaving the gym yesterday a couple was walking toward me. I held the door for them. The woman was struggling with the gear she was carrying into the gym. The man was too busy to help his partner, he was reading his Facebook messages on his smartphone. When we decide what’s important in our lives and focus our energy on it. Our lives change for the better.

Something to Think About

Winning streaks are great, but they don’t last. Losing streaks are painful, but they don’t last. We dance through life going through the good times and being hit in the gut by bad times. They happen. How we deal with them, both the good and bad, marks us with an indelible mark. It is the mark of character on our humanity. Did we handle the winning moments with grace and humility? Did we handle the tough times with courage, patience, and endurance? It’s never too late to change how we react. We don’t have to be what we were or are. We can be what we desire to become.

Something to Think About

I wish things would always go my way, but they don’t. My teams don’t win every game. It doesn’t rain only at night (ha, I wished it would rain). And, not everyone agrees with me. It’s all part of life’s dance. Life becomes much easier when my attitude about life changes. When I accept that life doesn’t have to always go my way, life instantly becomes much better. Heck, my team entertained me. Grateful I could watch the team play. No, it didn’t rain, but the blue sky was beautiful. I learned why a friend has a different opinion than mine on a hot button issue. Yes, life is better when I learn to dance with it.

Power Thought ~ People Will Surprise You

Don’t write anyone off. You never know how they will surprise you. It happens all the time. Your faith in a person’s innate capacity to change and grow may be the catalyst that one needs to ignite their fire. There will come a time when some of those you didn’t write off will do things that will take your breath away. Perhaps someone did it for you.

What If . . .

What if you shook it up a little today and took a different route to work, ate something different for breakfast and lunch, left your work at work and enjoyed those you live with this evening? I wonder how you would experience your day. Maybe, you’ll discover something wonderful.
