Positive Thought of the Day ~ Want to be Inspired?
“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” Jack London
Staying focused, doing the hard work day after day isn’t for the weak. It takes courages. When we stay focused and put the work in inspiration suddenly opens its gates and floods us with creative thoughts.
What If . . .
What if I analyzed how I use my time? Would I discover that I’m spending more time on things that are unimportant than are important? As I was leaving the gym yesterday a couple was walking toward me. I held the door for them. The woman was struggling with the gear she was carrying into the gym. The man was too busy to help his partner, he was reading his Facebook messages on his smartphone. When we decide what’s important in our lives and focus our energy on it. Our lives change for the better.
Today’s Power Thought ~ Do What You Can Do
There are things we can’t do. Don’t let them get in the way of what you can do. Give your strengths focus energy.
Today’s Good Word ~ Camera
If you’re like me, you use your smart phone’s camera a lot. A camera can be a metaphor for life. When we use our smart phone camera we take selfies, photos of friends, and important moments. Like our camera, we can try to capture the good times, smiles, laughter, and joy. If things are not working out, we can stop, adjust, adapt, and change our focus to what is joyful, good, and makes us a better person.
Today’s Good Word ~ Focus
What we focus on grabs hold of our attention and energy. If our focus isn’t leading us to a good space, we can change what we are focusing on. Focus on the things and people who are important to you. Focus on things that will lead you to live a happier, more fulfilled life. Focus on ways to love those close to you. What we focus on determines, in great part, the quality of our lives.
Stress Hack: Run Away From Stress
“When you exercise, your brain and nervous system produce more endorphins, which are essentially natural antidepressants— neurotransmitters that make you feel good. Even better, any form of exercise can create this effect, so it doesn’t matter whether you lift weights, jog on the treadmill, or play pickup basketball. As long as you break a sweat, you’ll get this high. There are two other ways that exercise help you squash stress. First, according to the Mayo Clinic, focusing on the tasks associated with training or playing a sport will help you forget about your problems and leave you with a greater sense of calm and clarity. Second, working out relaxes you and boosts your chances of a good night’s sleep, which is another key to fighting stress, anxiety, and depression.”

Stress Hack: Need a Quick Fix from Stress?
- Sit in a chair and get comfortable with good posture.
- Place one hand on your chest and the other hand on your diaphragm (just above yourstomach).
- Spend a moment concentrating on your breath and notice how your body naturally breathes.
- Now bring your shoulders back slightly. By bringing your shoulders back slightly (with no strainon the neck), you open up your heart to receive more oxygen and blood flow.
- Practice paying attention to your breathing. When you inhale, your belly expands; when youexhale, your belly goes in and pushes out oxygen.6)Practice two to three slow inhales and exhales. As you get better at this exercise, spend moretime at each sitting. SOURCE
