I see lots of lights shining in darkness. Each time someone helps a friend, family member, or neighbor, a light shines. Each time someone stands up for what is right in the face of intense opposition, a light shines. Let your light shine.

We can’t help the thoughts that come into our mind. Often, we cannot choose how long they decide to stay. We can, however, choose whether or not we’ll listen to them. If the thoughts are not uplifting, empowering, and optimistic, push on in spite of them. Don’t give in to fearful, negative, anxiety-ridden thoughts. They’ll leave when they discover we’re not setting a place for them at the table.

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Non Linear Story Creation

“Don’t set out to write something from beginning to end. A story is meant to be read from front to back, but not necessarily created that way.” ~ Chuck Sambuchino

What are your limitations? Are they real? For every limitation you can list, check out YouTube and you’ll find someone who has overcome a similar limitation. Lots of our limitations are self imposed. It’s as if we’ve voluntarily placed ourselves in a prison cell. Well, the cell is unlocked, walk out and leave the limitations behind.

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Permission to Stuff Yourself

““If you stuff yourself full of poems, essays, plays, stories, novels, films, comic strips, magazines, music, you automatically explode every morning like Old Faithful. I have never had a dry spell in my life, mainly because I feed myself well, to the point of bursting. I wake early and hear my morning voices leaping around in my head like jumping beans. I get out of bed quickly, to trap them before they escape.” ~ Ray Bradbury

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Searching for a Story Idea?

“Every idea is my last. I feel sure of it. So, I try to do the best with each as it comes and that’s where my responsibility ends. But I just don’t wait for ideas. I look for them. Constantly. And if I don’t use the ideas that I find, they’re going to quit showing up.” ~ Peg Bracken

Does everyone have a piece of you but you? Is it time to set boundaries and carve out time for yourself? Knowing one’s boundaries frees one’s self to focus more on what is important.

Love warms the heart, it heals the hurts, it plays a song that only lovers hear. Love, love, and love some more.

I grew up in the Boston area. For me it meant hating the Yankees. The Yankees were the evil empire. I wasn’t born with this bias, I learned it. It’s the way it is with all biases, we learn them. Some biases are silly and foolish. Others, are harmful to ourselves and those toward whom we are biased. If we have the wisdom and courage we can recognize our biases and see them for what they are. It takes courage to admit that a bias is wrong. It takes even greater courage to change.

What we think and what we say are not as influential as what we do. Our every action has an affect on someone or something. Our collective actions describe our character, values, and person.
