Feel Good Tip of the Day

A Word & a Laugh

Sometimes feeling good arrives in the strangest of ways. I like to go to the library to work on my blog. I am sitting at a table. Also sitting at the table is a young guy, college aged. He’s sitting on the other side of the table off to my right. We’re both working on our Macbooks. He started to take his glasses off to rub his eyes and a lens popped out. He was embarrassed. I said, “That’s happened a hundred times to me. We both laughed. I felt good. He felt good. Yes, life is good when we connect, even in simple ways.

Feel Good Tip of the Day ~ What Book Have You Read Recently?

I love to read. I read a book a week, almost always fiction. I get my books from my local library. Early on as a child the library was like a second home to me. The library has changed with the times since I was a child; however, my enjoyment of going to the library remains high. It is a peaceful place to work on my laptop. There are treasures to be found in authors I haven’t read. Today’s library is filled with online resources not readily available to most people. And, you meet interesting people. Check out your library, there’s a treasure waiting for you.

What if I went to my library and checked out a book?

What if I went to my library and checked out a book? I enjoy going to my library, online or in person. My branch library is loaded with books, computers, exercise equipment to ride while one reads, and free WiFi. When I go to the library I take my laptop, find a table and work on my writing. I”ve gotten to know the librarians and they me. It’s a friendly place. Most of the books I read I take out digitally and read on my iPad. Check out your local library and discover all the great things it has to offer you. I love my library.

Today’s Power Thought ~ An Approach to Life

I enjoy reading fiction. When I finish a book (usually an ebook) I return it to the library and download a book I have yet to read. I look forward to the mystery with anticipation. It’s a way we can approach life. Let yesterday go, look forward to today with great anticipation. Here’s wishing you the best day ever.

A Better Life ~ I Love My Library

I’m sitting at a table at my nearby branch library. A college-aged male and female student sit at the other end of the table working on math problems and flirting. I think they’re better at flirting than they are at working through their math problems. I’ve always enjoyed coming to the library. My mom took me to the library when I was in second grade and made sure I had a library card. Thanks, Mom. Because of that card, I became an avid reader and realized that the library held adventures for me and my right brained mind that school could never offer to me. Try visiting your library. They’re not the library of my childhood. They’ve kept up with changing times. Libraries will always be relevant to intellectually curious people.
