Love’s Living Flame ~ Poem by St. John of the Cross
Love’s Living Flame
O Love’s living flame,
Tenderly you wound
My soul’s deepest center!
Since you no longer evade me,
Will you, please, at last conclude:
Rend the veil of this sweet encounter!O cautery so tender!
O pampered wound!
O soft hand! O touch so delicately strange,
Tasting of eternal life
And canceling all debts!
Killing, death into life you change!O lamps of fiery lure,
In whose shining transparence
The deep cavern of the senses,
Blind and obscure,
Warmth and light, with strange flares,
Gives with the lover’s caresses! How tame and loving
Your memory rises in my breast,
Where secretly only you live,
And in your fragrant breathing,
Full of goodness and grace,
How delicately in love you make me feel!
Today’s Quote on The Meaning of Life
The meaning of life comes to us mostly in great revealing flashes and intense emotions.

Someone Like You ~ Poem by James Foley
Someone Like You
Some one like you makes the heart seem the lighter,
Some one like you makes the day’s work worth while,
Some one like you makes the sun shine the brighter,
Some one like you makes a sigh half a smile.
Life’s an odd pattern of briers and roses,
Clouds sometimes darken, nor sun shining through,
Then the cloud lifts and the sun light discloses
Near to me, dear to me—Some one like you.

You Will Find Your Way Home.” – Rumi
Today’s Quote by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
People are like stained – glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

My Soul Is A Candle ~ Poem by St. John of the Cross
My Soul Is A Candle
by St. John of the Cross
My soul is a candle that burned away the veil;
only the glorious duties of light I now have.
The sufferings I knew initiated me into God.
I am a holy confessor for men.
When I see their tears running across their cheeks
and falling into
His hands,
what can I say to their great sorrow
that I too have
known.
The soul is a candle that will burn away the darkness,
only the glorious duties of love we will have.
The sufferings I knew initiated me into God.
Only His glorious cares
I now have.
The Hope of Loving ~ Poem by Meister Eckhart
The Hope of Loving
by Meister Eckhart
What keeps us alive, what allows us to endure?
I think it is the hope of loving,
or being loved.
I heard a fable once about the sun going on a journey
to find its source, and how the moon wept
without her lover’s
warm gaze.
We weep when light does not reach our hearts. We wither
like fields if someone close
does not rain their
kindness
upon
us.
It Felt Love – Poem by Hafez
It Felt Love – by Hafez
How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart
And give to this world
All its
Beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too
Frightened.
Quote for Today – November 10, 2017
“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” Roy T. Bennett
