to believe in something else, something more.
We hear a lot about the importance of patience when striving for an important goal or reaching something we’v always dreamed about. How much more important is patience in waiting for someone we love to get their life together? I’ve witnessed families fall apart because there was no patience with one who is struggling to figure it out. I’ve also witnessed the opposite where families held the door open and waited and their waiting paid off in reconciliation. Patience does pay off on many different levels..
“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.”

NOTE: Patience isn’t easy to practice. Yet, it is a sure pathway to peace. Is it better to feel like a boiling pot of water or to feel like a serene calm lake? Most of the things that can’t wait, can wait. Patience accompanied with a smile makes our world a bit more peaceful and kind.
NOTE: There is no easy way. Once we accept that fact, life takes a decided turn for the better. It focuses our mind on being strong, patient, and resilient. All of which, like a hardy soup, combine to give us endurance to tackle the toughest of challenges. You’ve already got the stuff to endure. Face your challenges with courage, hope, and the confidence that you are tougher than anything they can toss at you.
