What If . . .

What if you didn’t listen to the mirror? How many times have you looked into the mirror and wish you hadn’t? How many times has the mirror told you it’s a bad hair day, pointed out a blemish, or noticed you’ve gained weight? It may not be the mirror’s fault. The problem my reside in a false self image that lives inside us. When we look in the mirror, if the image doesn’t reflect what our false self image wants alarms go off and sirens blast. We probably picked up this image from listening to others, e.g., parents, siblings, friends, or the media. What if we told the mirror to chill and that we are happy with the way we look?

Today’s Good Word ~ Work

Work is important to every human being. Work provides us with a livelihood. Work becomes part of our identity. Work ties directly to our self-image. All work is valuable work. Our work links to others in numerous ways. When we view our work as important, we begin to grasp a sense of the meaning of our lives. My dad, for example, was a shoe work, bartender, and janitor. His work provided footwear for people. Drinks for those relaxing after work. And, a clean environment for people to work in. His work was valuable. He was important to a lot of people in just the same way your work is important to a lot of people.
