The best way to get something done is to do it. Lots of stuff doesn’t get done, not because it’s difficult, it’s because we don’t like doing it. Something like doing the clothes fits this description. Does your laundry room or bedroom have a pile of dirty clothes? As the pile gets higher, we opt to search our closets or armoire for something clean to wear. Finding something clean or that matches may even take longer than tossing a batch of clothes in the washer. We may even sink to a low point and wear dirty clothes for a day or two until we have no choice but to do clothes. The best way to get something done is to do it. There is a correlation between stress and putting off a task we know needs to get done. Just do it. You’ll feel better. Excuse me, I have to take my clothes out of the dryer and fold, sort, and put away. I dislike this so much. LOL

Today’s Power Thought ~ It’s Only a Minute
I have a one-minute rule. It works like this: when I face an uncomfortable task, I challenge myself to give the task one full concentrated minute. I find that after one concentrated minute, I get into the task and take it through to completion. It has made a big difference for me. Have a great day.
Today’s Good Word ~ Start
Start with the tough tasks and the easy ones will fall into place. We all share a defense mechanism where we find something else to do instead of facing the tough tasks. The best way is to start by diving right in. When my students were writing their dissertations, some found it nearly impossible to start writing. I’d tell them I want the first sentence to the first paragraph on the first page. I didn’t care about the quality of the sentence. I wanted to read a sentence. Once the student started with the first sentence, it became easier. It’s true with all the tough tasks we face. Start, do something, anything. The rest follows.
