📖 Writer’s Tip ~ Be True to Yourself

Ignore every current trend and movement; pay no attention to what is presently most admired or most mocked; beware fervent admiration of any writer, however lauded, or any style, however praised. Think only of how you can make your writing most perfect, and most perfectly your own. – Sarah Perry

Today’s Poem ~ Love Song

Love Song

William Carlos Williams

 Sweep the house clean,

hang fresh curtains

in the windows

put on a new dress

and come with me!

The elm is scattering

its little loaves

of sweet smells

from a white sky!

Who shall hear of us

in the time to come?

Let him say there was

a burst of fragrance

from black branches.

📖 Writer’s Tip ~ Start Someplace

Sometimes the hardest thing in writing a story is where to start. You don’t need to have a great idea, you just have to put pen to paper. Start with a bad idea, start with the wrong direction, start with a character you don’t like, something positive will come out of it. – Marion Deuchars

🍎 Health Hack ~ Fill Up on Fiber

Some of fiber’s greatest benefits are related to cardiovascular health. Several large studies have found that people who eat the most fiber had a lower risk for heart disease. High fiber intake—particularly soluble fiber—seems to protect against several heart-related problems. . . . Fiber can help relieve constipation and normalize your bowel movements. Insoluble fiber is often used to treat or prevent constipation and diverticular disease, which affects the large intestine, or colon. Fiber may also play a role in reducing the risk for type 2 diabetes, the most common form of diabetes. Fiber in the intestines can slow the absorption of sugar, which helps prevent blood sugar from spiking.
