šŸ–‹ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Dive Into Your Writing

A writer gets to live yet another life every time he or she creates a new story.ā€ Ā ~Ā Ā Pawan Mishra

Today’s Poem ~ The Face of All The World

The Face of All the World

Elizabeth Browning

The face of all the world is changed, I think,

Since first I heard the footsteps of thy soul

Move still, oh, still, beside me, as they stole

Betwixt me and the dreadful outer brink

Of obvious death, where I, who thought to sink,

Was caught up into love, and taught the whole

Of life in a new rhythm.Ā  The cup of dole

God gave for baptism, I am fain to drink,

And praise its sweetness, Sweet, with thee anear.

The names of country, heaven, are changed away

For where thou art or shalt be, there or here;

And this . . . this lute and song . . . loved yesterday,

(The singing angels know) are only dear

Because thy name moves right in what they say.

šŸŽ Health Hack: Bye Bye Stress

Chase Stress Away

Chase away stress with a good laugh. Even a simple, genuine smile has been shown to help offset tension and negative thoughts. Three ideas for bringing humor into your life:

Watch a funny movie or show, read humorous comics, or go to a comedy show or improv performance.

Spend time around pets, children, or entertaining people who are a part of your life.

Don’t take things too seriously and be willing to laugh at yourself.

šŸ“– Writer’s Tip: Create Real Characters

Create real characters. Make your characters human—give them nervous tics, phobias, a funny way of messing up clichĆ©s. Some of the most memorable stories have three-dimensional characters that readers can feel strongly about in some way. For example: A heroine who has to overcome her deep-seated fears before she can get what she wants is much more appealing than one who just breezes through without struggle. The former’s conflict is relatable (who isn’t held back by their fears?), therefore her victory will be that much more satisfying.

Today’s Poem ~ Climbing

Climbing

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Who climbs the mountain does not always climb.
The winding road slants downward many a time;
Yet each descent is higher than the last.
Has thy path fallen?Ā  That will soon be past.
Beyond the curve the way leads up and on.
Think not thy goal forever lost or gone.
Keep moving forward; if thine aim is right
Thou canst not miss the shining mountain height.
Who would attain to summits still and fair,
Must nerve himself through valleys of despair.
