Why keep going in the same direction if things are not working out. It may be time to take a new direction, any direction other than the direction in which we are headed. It takes courage to admit it isn’t working. it takes courage to slam the brakes. It takes courage to change course. We know the answer if we continue on the same course. We also know if we change course we have a chance at something better. What do we have to lose?

A Better Life ~ The Little Voice
There is a little voice in our head that lets us know if something is right or wrong. Some call it conscience. The little voice doesn’t always point toward the most exciting way; but it does point toward a way in which we will feel at peace with ourselves and our actions. We won’t have anything to cover up or feel we have to construct lies.
Today’s Power Thought ~ Hold to the Truth
One never has to put a spin on the truth. The truth is what it is. No loud yelling or threats can change the truth from being what it is. When you hold to the truth you never have to make an apology.
Today’s Good Word ~ Cheerleader
I watched a brief video from CBS TV in the US. A young woman opened a letter and read it. She called her dad over and showed it to him. She was accepted into medical school. The dad became so overwhelmed with joy, he hugged his daughter and began crying tears of happiness. That kind of spontaneous joy for the success of another is needed a lot more in our world. Be a cheerleader for others and share their happiness.

Today’s Poem ~ Encouraged
Encouraged
Paul Laurence Dunbar
Because you love me I have much achieved,
Had you despised me then I must have failed,
But since I knew you trusted and believed,
I could not disappoint you and so prevailed.
Today’s Smile
Joe: “My girlfriend broke up with me after we hiked to the top of a mountain.”
Pete: “Why did she do that?”
Joe: “She said, “It’s all downhill from here.”

Something to Think About
Nothing is real to us until we experience it. I recall seeing photos of the Grand Canyon (U.S). The photos were beautiful, but did not compare to my experience of visiting the Grand Canyon. In a similar way, we can read all the books we want about grieving, but they cannot convey the experience one feels of losing a loved one. Experience teaches us at a deeper level than the written word or a photo. With each new experiences we become more deeply connected to all humanity.
Today’s Power Thought ~
we can sit down and think about what we have to do or we can get going and start doing. Sometimes it’s hard to get going. Once we get going, momentum takes over. Keep on moving.
