Healthy Lifestyle Tip ~ What Foods Can Help Maintain a Libido?
I asked the AI program ChatGPT to list five foods the increase the libido. Here’s ChatGPT’s response:
Foods Helping to Maintain a Healthy Libido
While there’s no magic list of foods guaranteed to increase libido for everyone, some foods are believed to have properties that may positively influence sexual desire and performance due to their nutrient content and effects on the body. Keep in mind that individual responses to these foods can vary, and overall health and lifestyle factors play a significant role in libido as well. Here are five foods that are often associated with potential libido-enhancing effects:
-
-
- Oysters: Oysters are well-known as an aphrodisiac due to their high zinc content, which is essential for the production of testosterone, a hormone that plays a role in sexual desire. Zinc also supports overall reproductive health.
- Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate contains compounds such as phenylethylamine (PEA) and flavonoids that can promote a sense of pleasure and well-being. Additionally, the consumption of dark chocolate has been linked to increased blood flow, which can be beneficial for sexual function.
- Avocado: Avocados are rich in healthy fats, particularly monounsaturated fats, which are important for hormone production and overall cardiovascular health. They also contain vitamin E, which is associated with improved blood flow.
- Nuts and Seeds: Nuts and seeds, such as almonds, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds, are good sources of essential fatty acids, including omega-3 fatty acids. These healthy fats are important for hormone production and circulation, both of which can contribute to a healthy libido.
- Fruits and Berries: Certain fruits and berries, such as strawberries, watermelon, and pomegranate, are rich in antioxidants and vitamins that can support blood flow and overall cardiovascular health. Watermelon, for example, contains citrulline, an amino acid that may have a positive impact on blood vessel dilation.

Remember that a balanced and varied diet, along with regular exercise, adequate sleep, stress management, and open communication with your partner, are all important factors for maintaining a healthy libido.
Poem for Today ~ Swans
Swans
Sara Teasdale
Night is over the park, and a few brave stars Look on the lights that link it with chains of gold, The lake bears up their reflection in broken bars That seem to heavy for tremulous water to hold. We watch the swans that sleep in a shadowy place, And now and again one wakes and uplifts its head; How still you are—your gaze is on my face— We watch the swans and never a word is said.
Healthy Lifestyle Tip ~ Want to Fade Age Spots?
Use Lemon Juice to Fad Age Spots
Using lemon juice to combat age spots is really a no-brainer. The citric acid and vitamin C in lemon make it the perfect natural bleaching agent. Test your skin first to see if you are sensitive to lemon juice at full strength. If the pure lemon juice is too harsh for your skin, you can dilute it with water.
Take one lemon, water and a cotton ball. Squeeze the lemon into a bowl and add equal parts of water. Use the cotton ball to apply the mixture directly to the areas with dark spots on your face and hands. Leave on for about 20 minutes and then rinse with water, but don’t use soap. Do this at least a couple of nights a week to allow the lemon juice time to fade the spots and even out your skin tone.

Thinking Out Loud ~ No Whiners Need Apply
Stand Up!
James Allen in his book, “A man only begins to be a man when he ceases to whine and revile, and commences to search for the hidden justice which regulates his life. And as he adapts his mind to that regulating factor, he ceases to accuse others as the cause of his condition, and builds himself up in strong and noble thoughts; ceases to kick against circumstances, but begins to use them as aids to his more rapid progress, and as a means of discovering the hidden powers and possibilities within himself.” P. 25
As a Man Thinketh is available online at gutenberg.org under the Harvard Classics.
NOTE: those of us who have raised children may have asked them when they did something wrong, “Tell me what you did.” The child may blame sibling or denied doing it. Then it is the parents work to help guide the child to take responsibility. Do you know adults who act the same way? They blame others, they blame the circumstances, but they never take responsibility for what happened and blame themselves. It is difficult to trust people who don’t take responsibility and who whine and blame others for their situation. When we take responsibility and act accordingly we grow with integrity.
Feel Good Tip – Staying Connected with Loved Ones is Important
Make the Call
Every once in a while I’ll hear the complaint, “My kids never call me.” Where I hear the complaint, I ask, “Do you call them?” The answer I get is, “No, they’re suppose to call me.” Ah, I think, I see the problem. Whether it’s children or a friend or someone else who is close, we can’t read their minds. We don’t know their struggles. All we get is a glimpse and it is a fast one at that. If staying in touch with folks you love is important (it’s important for me). Make the effort to make the call. Take responsibility for nurturing the relationships. You’ll be surprised how fast it will grow.
