There is a right and wrong. When we lose our capacity to understand there are appropriate ways to act in relationships and society, we disintegrate into dysfunctional relationships and a dysfunctional society. The great teachers from all traditions point the way by teaching us that love, kindness, and peace bring about a more just and harmonious society. When each of us works to create a loving relationship we add to the greater good of creating a just, loving and kind society.

Today’s Power Thought ~ What Are You Running Toward?
When we keep running to have more we never reach the finish line. The finish line is always moving away from us. When we strive to be more, we become more authentic, we develop our potential, and we use our gifts to benefits society.
Something to Think About
Winning has it’s place in healthy competition. Competition challenges us to learn and improve our performance. When winning moves away from healthy competition it focuses on acquiring power, diminishing or destroying other competitors. One has only to look at the continuous political cycle. Political parties demonize each other. They conjure up false fears of what will happen if the opposing party comes into power. Each political group views itself as being the sole custody of the right answers for society’s problems. What would it look like if political groups worked together to benefit all of society? What would happen if political discourse became civil? What would happen if positions were presented without demonizing the positions of the opposition? We might end up with a more just and healthy society.
Today’s Good Word ~ Responsibility
Responsibility challenges us to step up and take ownership. When my children were young, I had a responsibility to protect, love, and provide for them. When my wife was alive, I had a responsibility to love her and no other. I also had a responsibility to my employer to provide an honest day’s work for an honest for an honest day’s wage. I live in a democracy and I have a responsibility to my fellow citizens to vote and work with them to create a better society. There are many other areas of responsibility that touch our lives. They may arise on a moment’s notice. For example, if we see someone injured in an accident we have a responsibility to bring aid and call for help. The more we embrace our responsibilities the more we contribute to a kinder and compassionate society.
