Where Is Your Passion?

There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. ~ Nelson Mandela

Have You Thought About Your Unfulfilled Potential?

If I listened to my critics and those who didn’t believe in me, I’d still be living next the railroad tracks and hoping I had enough money in my checkbook to pay the rent. Don’t listen to the critics, naysayers, and those who try to pass their insecurities off on you. Go for it. Whatever it is, go for it. If it doesn’t work out, you gave it a shot and go for something else. There’s an endless supply of good ideas. There’s an endless supply of needs that you can fulfill. Don’t join in with the negative chorus and whack yourself. Be your loudest and best cheerleader. C’mon, you’ve got so much to offer. Listen to the inspiring words of Pope John XXIII, “Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” Yes you can! Go For It.

Pope John XXIII

Today’s Quote: Don’t Fear the Unknown

How can you know what you’re capable of if you don’t embrace the unkown? ~ Esmeralda Santiago

Today’s Thought: You Have Unlimited Potential

We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg of what we can do. Our potential for learning, achieving, and making a difference in our world is unlimited. Frequently repeat to yourself today: I do not have limits. I am making a difference.

Today’s Inspiring Quote: What Is Possible for You Today?

White. A blank page or canvas. So many possibilities. Stephen Sondheim

Thinking Out Loud: Unlocking Your Hidden Potential: Beyond Flaws to a Future Filled with Joy and Hope

We have within ourselves Enough to fill the present day with joy, And overspread the future years with hope. ~ William Wordsworth

NOTE: We see only the tip of the iceberg of what we are capable of accomplishing or becoming. Yet to be discovered in each of us is an abundance of talent waiting to be nurtured and brought to fruition. Imagine a freshly painted white wall that is 4 m by 5 m. Someone comes along and paints a round black circle 7 cm in diameter. Immediately our eyes are drawn to the black circle and we ignore the white part of the wall. Don’t focus on a personal flaw or fault. Focus on your goodness, what you can do, and what you are capable of doing.

Today’s Inspiring Quote: Let Go of Fear, Embrace Hope

Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential.

Pope John XXII

Thinking Out Loud ~ The Wind Beneath Your Wings

Victor Frankl says in Man’s Search for Meaning, speaks of love being the only way in which we can fully grasp and understand another human being . He says, “Love is the only way to grasp another human being in the innermost core of his personality. No one can become fully aware of the very essence of another human being. Unless he loves him by his love, he is enabled to see the essential traits and features in the beloved person; and even more he sees that which is potential in him, which is not yet actualized, but yet ought to be actualized, furthermore by his life, a living person enables the beloved person to actualize these potentialities. By making him aware of what he can be, and of what he should become, he makes these potentialities come true. P. 116

NOTE: Have you had a person in your life who believed in you and what you might become even when no one else saw your possibilities? I was fortunate to have a person like that in my life. My wife was, as the song lyrics say, “the wind beneath my wings.” When we offer this gift to another, we open up a world they may never thought possible. Will you be the wind beneath someone’s wings today?
