Writing Prompt: Mirror, Mirror, Why Are You Roasting Me Today?

We’ve all had those mornings. You glance in the mirror and your reflection looks like it just got off a 12-hour shift in a haunted corn maze. But what if your mirror could talk back?

✍️ Writing Prompt:

One morning, you’re brushing your teeth when your reflection blinks first. Then it crosses its arms and says, “Wow. This is the look you’re going with today?”

📝

Example Starter: I dropped my toothbrush and blinked at the mirror. My reflection didn’t blink back—it rolled its eyes.

“Let me guess,” it said. “Overslept, under-caffeinated, and pretending that bedhead is intentional?”

I stared. It smirked. Great, I thought. Even my own reflection is judging me now.

Look in the Mirror

Positive Thought for Today ~ Mirror Love and Kindness

When we lift the shade or open the binds light shines into our homes. It’s the same way when we open our hearts and minds to the light of truth, kindness, and love we become a mirror and reflect truth, kindness, and love to all who come our way.

A Better Life ~ Discovering a New World

The moment one can stand naked before the mirror and look at his/her reflection and say, “I love you just the way the way you are,” one gains a new sense of freedom. It is as if one opened the door, left their cell, and walked into a beautiful world.

What If . . .

What if you didn’t listen to the mirror? How many times have you looked into the mirror and wish you hadn’t? How many times has the mirror told you it’s a bad hair day, pointed out a blemish, or noticed you’ve gained weight? It may not be the mirror’s fault. The problem my reside in a false self image that lives inside us. When we look in the mirror, if the image doesn’t reflect what our false self image wants alarms go off and sirens blast. We probably picked up this image from listening to others, e.g., parents, siblings, friends, or the media. What if we told the mirror to chill and that we are happy with the way we look?
