It is even better to act quickly and err than to hesitate until the time of action is past. ~ Carl von Clausewitz

A Windy Day and Its Lesson
It’s windy today. I’m having a hard time keeping my ball cap on my head. I decided to take my ball cap off and walk head held high into the wind letting the wind blow through my hair. Forget the good hair day. LOL I like the feel of the wind. I picture it blowing all my cares and troubles away. I think many of our cares and worries can leave us as easily as the picture in my mind of the wind blowing them away. It depends on what I choose to focus on. If I want to clamp down on a worry,, what I’m doing is feeding the worry. In reality, a worry is something that focuses on what MIGHT happen. Not what has happened. When something happens, we can do something about it. It is time for action and not worry. See the difference? Here’s hoping the wind blows your cares and worries away.
Today’s Quote: Do It Now!
The best way to accomplish something is to just do it, and then find the courage afterward. ~ George Chapman
Today’s Quote: It’s Your Call
Either define the moment or the moment will define you. ` Walt Whitman
Feel Good Tip of the Day ~ A Simple Lesson
If we are bored, our eyes must be closed. Abundant opportunities surround us. A friend of mine told me she was reading her church bulletin and saw there was a need to help answer phones at her church. She volunteered. Her action may not be earth shattering, but it is meaningful. She is helping her church, she is volunteering her time and moving out of her space to enter a space where there is a need.. The lesson is simple, look (recognize the need), take a step toward it (we can’t wait for it to knock on our door), and engage (commit ourselves to action).
Positive Thought of the Day ~ What Are You Waiting For?
“Paths are made by walking.”
NOTE: Some years back I was having trouble making a decision when a wise old friend pulled me aside and said, “Ray, wish in one hand and poop (his language was much more colorful) in the other. See which you get first.” His folk wisdom stuck with me. Kafka was right, paths are made by walking.
Kindness Works ~ There’s Always a Time for Kindness
“Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness (Seneca).”
Kindness can happen wherever we find ourselves at any moment. It can happen with the person next to us. It can happen with a neighbor or a co-worker. It can happen with a stranger. All it takes is our being aware there is someone other than us in our proximity and to offer a kindness to them.
A Better Life ~ It’s Possible
When we begin to think of what is possible and cast aside doubts we set ourselves in motion to make the possible a certainty. Thinking in possibilities asks us to take a real step immersing ourselves into work of making the possible, possible. Don’t let doubts or naysayers hold you back. The only way the possible becomes impossible for you is if you stop trying. Keep on keeping on. It’s possible.
Something to Think About
If we’re always asking permission or seeking approval are we really free? When ask permission or make decisions based on what we believe others like, we forfeit our freedom. We end up serving many masters and never serving ourselves. There comes a time in life, where one has to assert one’s independence. Asserting our independence is a courageous act. On one side of the coin when we assert our independence we risk alienating those close to us. On the other side of the coin we act independently and take responsibility for our actions. We have to live with the consequences. We can’t lay the blame for failure on others. Are you ready to be free and no longer seek approval or permission before stepping out?
