COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • Conversations with neighbors and people I meet on my walks are priceless. What do we talk about? Mostly nothing, but it feels good. Grateful.
  • Texas plans to open up (with some restrictions) on Friday. Just knowing we’re moving forward is a good feeling. I call it a positive pop! Is that a rainbow I see up ahead!
  • If you follow my blog, you know I am an optimist. I bought plane tickets for late summer and fall at great prices. Sometimes, I can’t help myself! LOL
  • We’re another day closer to a solution. It’s going to happen. We just don’t know when. Three cheers for the science community, pharmaceutical companies, and medical people who are working to get rid of COVID-19.

The little things are priceless treasures to me. They brighten my day. I hope your day is filled to overflowing with the little things that make life worth living.

Grateful for all the above.

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • I met my Italian friend Sal (we both have the funny northeast accent) on my walk. Sal gave me his special secret for a great sauce. Thanks Sal. Pasta night will come sooner than expected.
  •  Today’s visitors included cardinals, Mexican bluebirds, hummingbirds, and a sparrow family reunion (LOL). They all cheer me up.
  • It was a warm south Texas day, perfect for sipping iced tea this afternoon on the patio and reading a book. Grateful.
  • Grateful for all everyone who is working on vaccine or a cure. It’s a matter of time before they cross the goal line. BELIEVE!

The little things are priceless treasures to me. They brighten my day. I hope your day is filling to overflow with the little things that make life worth living.

Grateful for all the above.

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • Did my grocery shopping at my local H-E-B (It’s a Texas Thing). The H-E-B folks are working very hard to keep everyone healthy the shelves stocked. Thanks, H-E-B.
  • Watched a dad playing soccer with his son on the soccer field. It brought back good memories and happy to see them both enjoying what they were doing.
  • Mockingbirds, cardinals, sparrows, lizards, squirrels, and mourning doves all kept me company. Grateful.

The little things are priceless treasures to me. They brighten my day. I hope your day is filling to overflow with the little things that make life worth living.

Grateful for all the above.

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • What an amazing day. Got to stop and chat with friends separately on my walk (always maintaining social distancing).
  • A friend’s mom was sent to the hospital (she’s 97, not my friend, her mom, LOL). Her mom was later released and returned to her nursing home. GRATEFUL.
  • A friend text me and told me her test for COVID-19 came back negative. YIPPEE!!
  • My lizard friends were having a lizard fiesta on my patio today. Beautiful creatures, grateful them.
  • Grateful for all. Grateful for you. Life is Good.

Grateful for all the above.

Happy Thanksgiving ~ Thank You for Passing my Way

Prayer of Thanksgiving

by Walter Rauschenbusch

O God, we thank you for this earth, our home;
For the wide sky and the blessed sun,
For the salt sea and the running water,
For the everlasting hills
And the never-resting winds,
For trees and the common grass underfoot.
We thank you for our senses
By which we hear the songs of birds,
And see the splendor of the summer fields,
And taste of the autumn fruits,
And rejoice in the feel of the snow,
And smell the breath of the spring.
Grant us a heart wide open to all this beauty;
And save our souls from being so blind
That we pass unseeing
When even the common thornbush
Is aflame with your glory,
O God our creator,
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

My Kingdom ~ Louisa May Alcott

My Kingdom

Louisa May Alcott

Sitting to-day in the sunshine,
That touched me with fingers of love,
I thought of the manifold blessings
God scatters on earth, from above;
And they seemed, as I numbered them over,
Far more than we merit, or need,
And all that we lack is the angels
To make earth a heaven indeed.
The winter brings long, pleasant evenings,
The spring brings a promise of flowers
That summer breathes to fruition,
And autumn brings glad, golden hours.
The woodlands re-echo with music,
The moonbeams ensilver the sea;
There is sunlight and beauty about us,
And the world is as fair as can be.
But mortals are always complaining,
Each one thinks his own a sad lot;
And forgetting the good things about him,
Goes mourning for those he has not.
Instead of the star-spangled heavens,
We look on the dust at our feet;
We drain out the cup that is bitter,
Forgetting the one that is sweet.
We mourn o’er the thorn in the flower,
Forgetting its odour and bloom;
We pass by a garden of blossoms,
To weep o’er the dust of the tomb.
There are blessings unnumbered about us, –
Like the leaves of the forest they grow;
And the fault is our own – not the Giver’s –

A Celtic Prayer

Deep peace of the
running waves to you.
Deep peace of the
flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the
quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the
shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the
Son of Peace to you.
