Today’s Smile

Joe: “I used my best line on a beautiful woman sitting next to me on my flight home. I said, “Does the airline charge you extra for sitting next to a handsome guy?”

Pete: “What did she say?”

Joe: “Yes, the airline charges extra, but I was unwilling to pay.”

Today’s Smile

Joe: “I went to a bar last night and I got six numbers.”

Pete: “That’s great, how did it work out.”

Joe: “One more number and I would have had seven.”

Today’s Smile

Joe: “I don’t have a problem buying Tampons for my girlfriend.”

Pete: “That’s nice, Joe.”

Joe: “Apparently, she doesn’t think they’re an appropriate birthday gift.”

Today’s Smile

Joe: “My girlfriend is a bookworm and she’s thinks we should split.”

Pete: “Why?”

Joe: “She says we’re not on the same page.”

Something to Think About

I know a person who sends dog memes to friends who have dogs. She likes to brighten her friends’ days and make them smile or have a chuckle. It only takes her a minute or two and she has made a difference in someone else’s life. It doesn’t take much to brighten another’s day. Whose day are you going to brighten today. You’ll make a big difference and put a shine on their face.

Today’s Smile

Joe: “When I kiss a woman for the first time I always close my eyes.”

Pete: “What makes you do that?”

Joe: “If my eyes are open, more pepper spray gets in them.”

Today’s Smile

Joe: “My therapist told me to write letters to people I don’t like and then burn them.”

Pete: “How has that worked out?”

Joe: “I’ve done that, but now what do I do with the letters?”

Today’s Smile

Joe: “Pete, whatever you do, don’t spell part backwards.”

Pete: “Why?”

Joe: “It’s a trap.”

Today’s Good Word ~ Shine

Think of a late winter’s day where the sky is a bright blue and the sun shines brightly on your back. I can recall many a such day and the sun’s warmth warmed away the winter’s chill giving me hope of a coming spring. That’s what happens to other people when we shine in their presence. How do we shine? It starts with a warm smile followed by a kind word and perhaps a handshake or hug. That’s the kind of stuff you can’t buy online or in a store. It comes from your heart as a free gift to all who pass your way. When you shine, you’ll feel better and you’ll make everyone who comes your way feeling better. Shine on.

A Better Life ~ Learning a Second Language

Although my primary language is English, I make an effort each day to learn to speak Spanish. I’m making progress, but it is slow. I like speaking (albeit poorly) Spanish with the Spanish speaking people I meet. One language I have not had to learn to communicate is a smile. A warm, broad smile is always reciprocated. It is a universal sign that the world is a friendly place. You don’t have to learn a second language to communicate, all you have to do is offer your beautiful smile to all who pass your way.
