Feel Good Tip ~ The Storm Will Lose Their Power

Finding Inner Peace

Can you find inner peace no matter how a situation turns out? Not everyone can. The moment’s turmoil seems to capture us and when it does we find ourselves on traveling rapidly in the wrong direction. I’m speaking of a time when everything is going right and boom, an event interrupts the nice flow we were experiencing. Can we ride the unwelcome event without losing our sense of balance until the unwelcome event runs out of power? Metaphorically, the storm that interrupted us will lose its power and disappear. I think a sense of inner peace comes from knowing that we’ve experienced similar storms and made it through. There’s no reason we won’t make it through again. A good maxim might be, “I did this and I can do it again.”

Inspiring Quote for Today ~ There Are Always Lessons to Learn

“When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”

Inspiring Quotation for Today ~ Don’t Fear the Storm

“If a bird is flying for pleasure, it flies with the wind, but if it meets danger it turns and faces the wind, in order that it may rise higher.”

~ Corrie Ten Boom

Think About It ~ The Storms Will End

I love rainbows. They tell me the storm is over, clear sky are heading my way. Rainbows are great metaphors for our lives. Yes, the storms we face will end. Yes, clear sky will come our way. happiness will once again hold us in its arms.

Today’s Poem ~ Just Be Glad

Just Be Glad

James Whitcomb Riley

O heart of mine, we shouldn’t
      Worry so!
What we’ve missed of calm we couldn’t
      Have, you know!
What we’ve met of stormy pain,
  And of sorrow’s driving rain,
  We can better meet again,
      If it blow!

We have erred in that dark hour
      We have known,
When our tears fell with the shower,
      All alone!—
Were not shine and shower blent
  As the gracious Master meant?—
  Let us temper our content
      With His own.

For, we know, not every morrow
      Can be sad;
  So, forgetting all the sorrow
      We have had,
Let us fold away our fears,
And put by our foolish tears,
And through all the coming years
      Just be glad.

Today’s Inspiration ~ The Storm’s Gift

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.

Courage, Courage, Courage ~ Edgar Guest

Courage, Courage, Courage

Edgar Guest

When the burden grows heavy, and rough is the way,
When you falter and slip, and it isn't your day,
And your best doesn't measure to what is required,
When you know in your heart that you're fast growing tired,
With the odds all against you, there's one thing to do:
That is, call on your courage and see the thing through.

Who battles for victory ventures defeat.
Misfortune is something we all have to meet ;
Take the loss with the grace you would take in the gain.
When things go against you, don't whine or complain;
Just call on your courage and grin if you can.
Though you fail to succeed, do not fail as a man.

There are dark days and stormy, which come to us all,
When about us in ruin our hopes seem to fall.
But stand to whatever you happen to meet—
We must all drink the bitter as well as the sweet.
And the test of your courage is: What do you do
In the hour when reverses are coming to you.

Never changed is the battle by curse or regret,
Though you whimper and whine, still the end must be met
And who fights a good fight, though he struggle in vain,
Shall have many a vict'ry to pay for his pain.
So take your reverses as part of the plan
Which God has devised for creating a man.

Hope ~ Emily Dickinson

Hope

Emily Dickinson

“Hope” is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I’ve heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea,
Yet never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Today’s Reflection ~ Life’s Lessons

There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm. ~ Willa Cather

Hope Is The Thing With Feathers ~ Emily Dickinson

‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
