Something to Think About

It is better to have questions than to have answers. Questions lead us to greater understanding. Questions open up new pathways of thinking. Questions challenge existing answers. Questions lead to deeper understanding of what is true and what is false. Question everything and put it to the test.

Today’s Power Thought ~ Hold to the Truth

One never has to put a spin on the truth. The truth is what it is. No loud yelling or threats can change the truth from being what it is. When you hold to the truth you never have to make an apology.

A Better Life ~ The Little Voice

There is a little voice in our head that lets us know if something is right or wrong. Some call it conscience. The little voice doesn’t always point toward the most exciting way; but it does point toward a way in which we will feel at peace with ourselves and our actions. We won’t have anything to cover up or feel we have to construct lies.

❤️ Today’s Poem – The Hope of Love

The Hope of Love

Meister Eckhart

What keeps us alive, what allows us to endure?

I think it is the hope of loving,
or being loved.

I heard a fable once about the sun going on a journey
to find its source, and how the moon wept
without her lover’s
warm gaze.

We weep when light does not reach our hearts. We wither
like fields if someone close
does not rain their
kindness
upon
us.

Writers’ Wisdom: Imaginative Truth

Contrary to all those times you’ve heard a writer confess at a reading that he writes fiction because he is a pathological liar, fiction writing is all about telling the truth. Don’t confine truth to fact. Imaginative truth is as powerful and often enough more so than fact. ~ Paul Harding

Today’s Reflection ~ Truth & Love

Truth is not spoken in anger. Truth is spoken, if it ever comes to be spoken, in love. The gaze of love is not deluded. It sees what is best in the beloved even when what is best in the beloved finds it hard to emerge into the light. ~ J. Coetzee

Beauty ~ Tagore

Beauty is truth’s smile
when she beholds her own face in
a perfect mirror.
– Rabindranath Tagore

What are Heavy? Christina Rossetti

What are heavy? sea-sand and sorrow;

What are brief? today and tomorrow;

What are frail? spring blossoms and youth;

What are deep? the ocean and truth.

Today’s Reflection ~ Strength

Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm. ~ Abraham Lincoln
