🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Essentials to do Battle with COVID-19

Pay Attention to the Essentials

Imagine you actually have the virus and change your behavior so that you won’t transmit it to your friends and neighbors. This means taking hand-washing, social distancing, and sanitizing surfaces, doorknobs, and taps very seriously. No more partying. Here’s how to wash your hands the way a cardiac surgeon does. Here’s another. Watch it. Learn. It feels good because it’s a hand massage. Become a Super-Preventer. Question, and learn. What does and doesn’t work? If you can sew, you make face masks.  Soap is preferable to bleach. Losing your sense of smell and taste may be an early symptom. How long can the virus live on surfaces? What does two metres social distance look like? See here.

Today’s Poem ~ Peace

Peace

Sara Teasdale

PEACE flows into me
       AS the tide to the pool by the shore;
       It is mine forevermore,
  It ebbs not back like the sea.

  I am the pool of blue
       That worships the vivid sky;
       My hopes were heaven-high,
  They are all fulfilled in you.

  I am the pool of gold
       When sunset burns and dies,—
       You are my deepening skies,
  Give me your stars to hold.

🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ No Shortcuts

“There are no shortcuts in life – only those we imagine.” ~ Frank Leahy

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

COVID-19 Is a Bummer – It Can’t Stop Good Things From Happening

Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:

  • The birds woke me with a symphony in G minor LOL. I really enjoy them when they’re going at it. They are filled with joy!
  • I made a pasta salad for one and filled it with veggies. Very delicious and nutritious.
  • My neighbors and I are getting really good at social distancing. Is there an Olympic event? LOL – Really, great to have neighbors who care and still speak and smile when we meet on a walk.
  • The slower pace of life is giving me a greater opportunity for reflection. In that sense, it’s been good.

What I share are seemingly small and inconsequential things, but they are priceless to me.

Grateful for all the above.

If you’d like to share the good things you’ve witnessed on my blog, Email me (ray.brese@gmail.com) a short list (1 to 5 things.  I’ll post and attribute them to you in the way you choose to be acknowledged (e.g., anonymous, name, Word Press blog (etc.).

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Quit? NO WAY!

If I fall, I’ll rise. If I’m disappointed, I’ll suck it up and move on. Eyes focused ahead, I know a rainbow awaits me.

Today’s Smile 😃

Jack: “Man, I’m upset.”

Pete: “How so, Jack?”

Jack: “I bought a guitar the other day and it doesn’t work.”

Pete: “It doesn’t?”

Jack: “I should’ve known when the seller said no strings attached.”
