Get spiritual. A study conducted by the formidably sober and scientific Harvard University found that patients who were prayed for recovered quicker than those who weren’t, even if they weren’t aware of the prayer.
Keep On Keepin’ On
Annonymous
If the day looks kinder gloomy
And your chances kinder slim,
If the situation’s puzzlin’
And the prospect’s awful grim,
If perplexities keep pressin’
Till hope is nearly gone,
Just bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin’ on.
Frettin’ never wins a fight
And fumin’ never pays;
There ain’t no use in broodin’
In these pessimistic ways;
Smile just kinder cheerfully
Though hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin’ on.
There ain’t no use in growlin’
And grumblin’ all the time,
When music’s ringin’ everywhere
And everything’s a rhyme.
Just keep on smilin’ cheerfully
If hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin’ on.
“Each time you smile, you throw a little feel-good party in your brain. The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness.”
“I want your loves to be multiple. I don’t want you to be a snob about anything. Anything you love, you do it. It’s got to be with a great sense of fun. Writing is not a serious business. It’s a joy and a celebration. You should be having fun with it.. . . . If it’s work, stop and do something else.”
~ Ray Bradbury
Here are a few of the good things I witnessed or experienced today:
We’re another day closer to winning this battle. Don’t let the sideshow get you down (all the news). Good things are happening everywhere and they will continue to happen. We’re going to make it and make it in style.
The little things are priceless treasures to me. They brighten my day. I hope your day is filled to overflowing with the little things that make life worth living.
Grateful for all the above.
If you’d like to share the good things you’ve witnessed on my blog, Email me (ray.brese@gmail.com) a short list (1 to 5 things. I’ll post and attribute them to you in the way you choose to be acknowledged (e.g., anonymous, name, Word Press blog (etc.).
Worry never bought me a coffee or gave me a good night’s sleep. Adios worrying.
If something doesn’t go my way, I’ll put a good spin on it, and smile on. Won’t spend a second spinning my wheels.
Unafraid
Jack Appleton
I have no fear. What is in store for me
Shall find me ready for it, undismayed.
God grant my only cowardice may be
Afraid—to be afraid!
That’s Right, Enjoy Time Alone With YOU!
Strong social ties are key to good feelings, but a truly happy person can be comfortable on her own, too. Solitude and down time is a good chance to relax, do the things we like to do alone, and build up energy to go back out and deal with the world and its people again. Alone in healthy doses doesn’t have to mean lonely, and if I’m happy on my own and comfortable with myself, I really can be happy anytime.
