Today’s Poem ~ All Roads That Lead To God Are Good

All Roads That Lead To God Are Good

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

All roads that lead to God are good.
What matters it, your faith, or mine?
Both centre at the goal divine
Of love’s eternal Brotherhood.

The kindly life in house or street –
The life of prayer and mystic rite –
The student’s search for truth and light –
These paths at one great Junction meet.

Before the oldest book was writ,
Full many a prehistoric soul
Arrived at this unchanging goal,
Through changeless Love, that leads to it.

What matters that one found his Christ
In rising sun, or burning fire?
In faith within him did not tire,
His longing for the Truth sufficed.

Before our modern hell was brought
To edify the modern world,
Full many a hate-filled soul was hurled
In lakes of fire by its own thought.

A thousand creeds have come and gone,
But what is that to you or me?
Creeds are but branches of a tree –
The root of love lives on and on.

Though branch by branch proved withered wood,
The root is warm with precious wine.
Then keep your faith, and leave me mine –
All roads that lead to God are good.

Today’s Smile

Joe: “I went to a wind turbine farm yesterday.”

Pete: “It’s the future, Joe. What did you think?”

Joe: “I’m not a big fan.”

Something to Think About

There are hummingbirds that visit my yard every day. I don’t have a hummingbird feeder, but I do have flowering plants that attract them. The hummingbirds are part of creation and bring great joy to me. No airplane can fly with the dexterity and speed of a hummingbird. The bees also like to come to my flowering plants as well as other insects. I hope leaders throughout the world can work together to protect our environment for future generations and for all living creatures.

A Better Life ~ Love is the Answer

The more we let love into our life, the more whole we are made. Love is the fuel that drives us to do great things. When love isn’t present there is a deep dark void. Love may walk in and out of our lives, but I’ll always have an open door and love can knock anytime. It’s the answer.

Today’s Good Word ~ Words

Words – Def: Units of language that have meaning and can be spoken or written.

Our words connect or separate us from each other. We can use our words to share messages of love, healing and inspiration. We can also use our words to condemn and shame. Words can send us into panic buying or give us hope that things will get better. The words we use paint a picture of us to all who hear or read our words. What kind of picture are you painting?

Today’s Power Thought ~ It’s Time to Kick Up the Self Belief

Are you your top cheerleader? Do you believe in yourself? Do you give yourself a pep talk every day? Why not? If you don’t do it, who’s going to do it? Okay, freshen up your smile, put a kick in your step, and step out, try something new.

Today’s Health Tip ~ Do You Need Carbs in Your Diet?

Yes, you can benefit from eating the right types and amount of carbs. Carbs:

  • Provide energy.
  • Protect against disease.
  • Control weight.

“Carbohydrates are our body’s main source of energy. For most people, carbs are an essential macronutrient that provides the energy to get through a busy day. People often say that carbs are fattening,” says Zumpano. “But complex carbohydrates, like whole grains, are not fattening foods.”

Today’s Poem ~ The Coming of Good Luck

The Coming of Good Luck

Robert Herrick

So Good-Luck came, and on my roof did light,
Like noiseless snow, or as the dew of night;
Not all at once, but gently,–as the trees
Are by the sun-beams, tickled by degrees.
