Today’s Poem: Love After Love by Derek Walcott

Love After Love

Derek Walcott

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

Today’s Poem: The Tide Rises The Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Tide Rises The Tide Falls

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The tide rises, the tide falls,
The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea-sands damp and brown
The traveler hastens toward the town,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.
Darkness settles on roofs and walls,
But the sea, the sea in darkness calls;
The little waves, with their soft, white hands
Efface the footprints in the sands,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.
The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;
The day returns, but nevermore
Returns the traveler to the shore.
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

Today’s Poem: Five Senses by Judith Wright

Five Senses

Judith Wright

Now my five senses
gather into a meaning
all acts, all presences;
and as a lily gathers
the elements together,
in me this dark and shining,
that stillness and that moving,
these shapes that spring from nothing,
become a rhythm that dances,
a pure design.

While I’m in my five senses
they send me spinning
all sounds and silences,
all shape and color
as thread for that weaver,
whose web within me growing
follows beyond my knowing
some pattern sprung from nothing-
a rhythm that dances
and is not mine.

“A Happy New Year” An anonymously written poem looking forward to new beginnings

“A Happy New Year.”

by Anonymous

“A happy new year” it will be—if it’s new:
New visions of all that is noble and true,
New powers for service, new knowledge of God,
New zeal for the ways that the heroes have trod,
New comforts, new courage, new graces, new joys,
New peace where the evil assails or annoys,
New friendship, new helpers, new faith and new love,
New treasures on earth and new treasures above,
New wisdom, new glory, new health, and new cheer,
Nothing old, all things new, in the happy new year!

Feeling Good Tip for Today ~ What Words Will You Use Today

Words – Words – Words

Words can heal.

Words can inspire,

Words can sh0ow our respect.

Words express our love.

And, words thoughtlessly uttered destroy relationships, degrade, shame, and disrespect.

We all feel better when our words build, heal, and elevate.

Is It Time to Tune In?

As much as you’re able, listen to music. The right music can help you concentrate, find a rhythm for work, and even (when you need it) escape. Source

NOTE: The right kind of music can lift your spirits, awaken great memories, and inspire you. Choose playlists that energize, motivate, and elevate your spirit. Stay away from music that makes you angry, depresses you, and is degrading.
