When I was a young guy in the army, I did something I shouldn’t have done. A sergeant caught me. He could have got me into trouble, instead, he chewed me out (did he ever). I was grateful he let it slide. I never made the mistake again. I learned a valuable lesson, We all need a break now and then. Extending a merciful hand often pays much greater dividends than a slap.

We hear a lot about the importance of patience when striving for an important goal or reaching something we’v always dreamed about. How much more important is patience in waiting for someone we love to get their life together? I’ve witnessed families fall apart because there was no patience with one who is struggling to figure it out. I’ve also witnessed the opposite where families held the door open and waited and their waiting paid off in reconciliation. Patience does pay off on many different levels..

Feel Good Tip of the Day ~ Don’t Waste a Moment Being Angry
Feeling hurt? Shake it off and move on. Don’t waste a moment on anger, retaliating, or ruminating, I saw a lecture where the speaker asked, ‘How would you react if you visited someone who was sick in bed in the hospital and the sick person made an insensitive remark toward you?” The speaker suggested most would simply blow it off and attribute it to the person being sick. The speaker suggested the person who hurt our feelings is sick otherwise he/she wouldn’t have made the remark. That helped me to let go of the desire to strike back or think about it incident. Try it. Anger isn’t worth it.
