When my brother and I first learned to canoe it was a hilarious adventure. We’d go from one side of the river to the other side. A straight line was next to impossible. It was a good thing we both could swim seeing that we tipped the canoe more than a few times. Eventually we got it right and figured out how to paddle and not tip the canoe. When we’re not working in sync with each other, getting to where we want to go is difficult. When we argue over our perspectives and can’t find a compromise we tip our canoe. It works better when we figure out how to work together. We get to where we want to go much quicker and we don’t tip the canoe.

Today’s Good Word ~ Adventure
We go an adventure when we do something new. It may be a trip to a foreign land, large city you’ve never visited, new job, move to a new location, or a challenging project. Adventures are waiting for us. When we choose to play it safe we miss out on discovering new insights, meeting new people, learning new skills, and putting our knowledge and skills to the test. There are nearly four months left to 2022, plan an adventure. Begin planning for it and feel your excitement grow.
Today’s Power Thought ~ Trust the Path
If you’re standing still you’re going nowhere. The journey begins with the first step. Once you’ve taken the first step, you’ve entered a path and your adventure begins. Trust the path you’ve taken. It’s filled with all kinds of challenges measured for you. When you complete the adventure, you’ll be ready for the next higher level adventure.
Today’s Good Word ~ Positive Core
What is your positive core? That is, what are the things that you do especially well? When we define our positive core, it opens up all kinds of new directions for us. We can now focus attention on what we do well. It’s difficult to completely identify our positive core by ourselves. We need to sit down with someone who knows us. Go to a coffee shop and brainstorm your positive core. Between the two of you, you will generate a well-defined list. You’ll be ready to take off on an exciting adventure.
