Pete: “Are you sure?”
Joe: “Yes. If you know anyone who does, give me their address so we can drop them off tomorrow.”
✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ Writing as Restorative
“Writing is always a restorative process. It’s like paddling a kayak. When you’re writing, you can’t do anything else. You’re in the space you’re in. So, in that way, it’s enormously centering and restorative.’
🍎 Today’s Health Question ~ Is the Flu the same as a Bad Cold?
Answer: No – there’s a big difference.
Though you may experience typical cold symptoms like sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, hoarseness and cough, the flu can be more dangerous than your run-of-the-mill common cold. “In the United States alone, 36,000 people die and more than 200,000 are hospitalized each year because of the flu,” Dr. Pate says. Certain populations are at greater risk, including infants, the elderly, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems, per the CDC. What’s more, if you suffer from a medical condition, such as heart disease, cancer or diabetes, the flu can lead to more serious complications. For this reason, Dr. Pate encourages people to get vaccinated. “Even if the shot doesn’t prevent you from getting the flu, it can decrease the chance of developing severe symptoms,” she says.
C’mon, get your flu shot. It’ll only hurt for an instant.

Mary: “My old aunts would come and tease me at weddings, “Well Sarah? Do you think you’ll be next?”
Pat: “What did you do?”
Mary: “I started doing the same to them at funerals.”
🤗 A Better Life ~ Life is Filled With Hope
If I placed a patch on my body for each time I’ve been hurt, I’d look like a mummy. It’s better to forgive the hurts, learn from them, and let them go. Wounds will heal, scars will remind us of the lessons, and life becomes filled with hope.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Brown Penny
Brown Penny
William Butler Yeats
I whispered, ‘I am too young,’
And then, ‘I am old enough’;
Wherefore I threw a penny
To find out if I might love.
‘Go and love, go and love, young man,
If the lady be young and fair.’
Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,
I am looped in the loops of her hair.
O love is the crooked thing,
There is nobody wise enough
To find out all that is in it,
For he would be thinking of love
Till the stars had run away
And the shadows eaten the moon.
Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,
One cannot begin it too soon.
💡 Something to Think About
“A human’s little finger contributes over 50% of the hand’s strength.” Provided by FactRetriever.com
No one is insignificant. We can make a difference. Never give in to powerlessness or despair. If you feel a bit down, look at your little finger and remember that it provides over 50% of the hand’s strength.
