🌾 Today’s Poem ~ “Why Do I Love” You, Sir
“Why Do I Love” You, Sir
Emily Dickinson
“Why do I love” You, Sir?
Because—
The Wind does not require the Grass
To answer—Wherefore when He pass
She cannot keep Her place.
Because He knows—and
Do not You—
And We know not—
Enough for Us
The Wisdom it be so—
The Lightning—never asked an Eye
Wherefore it shut—when He was by—
Because He knows it cannot speak—
And reasons not contained—
—Of Talk—
There be—preferred by Daintier Folk—
The Sunrise—Sire—compelleth Me—
Because He’s Sunrise—and I see—
Therefore—Then—
I love Thee—
Today’s Smile 😃

Pete: “What did she say?”
Joe: “She said she never play Scrabble with me again.”
🤗 A Better Life ~ A Source of Joy
A paradox, serving others instead of one’s self brings great joy.
🤗 A Better Life ~ Keep Your Balance
A tire rolls smoother when it is in balance. I think it’s the same with life. When my life’s in balance, everything seems to work out.
Today’s Smile 😃
Joe: “I feel depressed.”
Pete: “What’s bothering you, Joe?”
Joe: “Why is it everything I love is either unhealthy, addicting or has multiple restraining orders against me?”

💡 Something to Think About
A strong cold front came through south Texas last night. The weather changed. Instead of the air conditioner, it’s the heater that’s working this morning. That’s life. Changes happen. I prefer warmer temps. There’s not anything I can do this morning but to slip on my hoodie and head to the gym. Adapt to change. Roll with it. Don’t fight it. Life will be better.
🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Love After Love
Love After Love
Derek Walcott
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
