Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art—
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature’s patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors—
No—yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever—or else swoon to death.
I was taking my trash bin out for pickup. A neighbor was doing the same thing. He took a few steps toward me and started talking (we kept ourselves 2 + meters apart). He tossed one complaint out after another. He complained about the election. He complained about the slow roll out of the COVID vaccines. He complained about deer nibbling on his bushes. And, he complained about his son not calling him every evening. I couldn’t wait to escape! LOL. You’ve all been there. You know what I mean. When he left, I looked at his large green trash bin and thought how much better my neighbor would feel if he tossed his complaints in the trash bin along with his garbage.
Joe: “I ordered a chicken and an egg from an online company.”
Pete: “How did it go?”
Joe: “I’ll let you know which comes first, the chicken or the egg.”
Ever thought of getting off the carousel? It’s always moving, but getting nowhere. When we do the same things repeatedly, we get the same results. Is it time to change it up? If you do, you’ll change the results.
