Today’s Smile

Joe: “My girlfriend called me while I was at the bar enjoying a beer, she said if I wasn’t home in ten minutes she was giving my food to the dog.”

Pete: “What did you do?”

Joe: “I made it home in five minutes. I’d hate to see anything happen to the dog.”

Today’s Good Word ~ Continuity

Continuity provides us with a sense of stability. It allows us to reasonably expect something to happen. Continuity connects the past to the present and the present to the future. When we connect the best of what was in our lives with the present, we can think of ways to make more of what was good happen in the present. We can then look toward the future and project the good that was and is into the future. Imagine living a life that focus on the good that was, is, and will be. It will be a happy life.

Today’s Health Tip ~ Want to Feel Good?

Carefully Choose the People you Hang With

Maximize the amount of time that you spend with people you enjoy being around. Connecting with others who radiate positivity and have similar interests will excite and energize you. On the flip side, people you don’t relate to or who have negative outlooks, complain often or make poor choices will only drain your energy account. Be selective in the company you keep.

Today’s Power Thought ~ The Extra Effort

Lots of folks may never understand you, the effort you make to understand others will set you apart.

Today’s Poem ~ Song of Love

Song of Love

Victor Hugo

If there be a velvet sward
       By dewdrops pearly drest,
Where through all seasons fairies guard
       Flowers by bees carest,
Where one may gather, day and night,
     Roses, honeysuckle, lily white,
I fain would make of it a site
       For thy foot to rest.

If there be a loving heart
       Where Honor rules the breast,
Loyal and true in every part,
       That changes ne'er molest,
Eager to run its noble race,
Intent to do some work of grace,
I fain would make of it a place
       For thy brow to rest.

And if there be of love a dream
       Rose-scented as the west,
Which shows, each time it comes, a gleam,—
       A something sweet and blest,—
A dream of which heaven is the pole,
A dream that mingles soul and soul,
I fain of it would make the goal
       Where thy mind should rest.

Bring on the next moment, It’s going to be better.

A Better Life ~ The Little Things

It’s the little things, done consistently over time that build great relationships. Little things like hugs, saying I love you, surprises, listening, helping out, and always taking time to care.

Today’s Inspiration ~ Never Quit, Try, Try and Try Again

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” ~ Confucius

Today’s Good Word ~ Rest

Take time to rest, relax, and renew. When we rest, we give our minds and bodies a chance to reset. Resting may mean taking a nap, getting away from the desk and going for a short walk, or grabbing a glass of iced tea and sitting on the patio for a few minutes. Try grabbing periods of  brief rest during the day and notice the difference in how you feel.

Today’s Health Tip ~ Foods to Improve the Mood

No, you’re not imagining it: feeling ‘hangry’ – or hungry-angry – is a real thing. This is because, unlike other organs, your brain relies on a drip-drip-drip supply of glucose throughout the day to stay properly fuelled so, if you don’t eat regularly or you skip meals, you won’t feel your best. As well as eating regularly, drop your fear of fat. The brain is made up around 50 per cent fat, and our cells need good quality fats to maintain their structure so consider good fats those found in olive oil, nuts, seeds, and avocados.
